Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Human Services, Senior Centers, Seniors
Mission: Montco SAAC's mission is to involve, enrich, and empower adults 50 years of age or better to live as independently as possible in our communities.
Target demographics: Adults 50 and older in Montgomery County
Geographic areas served: Norristown, Ambler, Glenside, and surrounding areas.
Programs: Montco SAAC began in 1965 as a location for seniors in Norristown to receive a warm, nutritious meal. Today, the organization encompasses two senior centers, the inter-generational Art Center at Ambler, and the largest Meals on Wheels program in Montgomery County, which serves over 350 home bound seniors. At our centers, members will find fitness classes, health and nutrition classes, art classes, on-site social workers, nutritious lunches, caring staff, and an opportunity to connect with their peers in a warm, welcoming, inclusive community.
