Selfchec ensures a comprehensive system which provides its users with accurate and easy to follow information, guidance, and support to maintain good health and build healthy habits. More so, the monthly reminders bring awareness for disease prevention and how one can employ simple preventative measures to remain healthy. Both as a volunteer and a public health professional, I want to stress on the idea of prevention. For that matter, I highly recommend community members to go through the https://selfchec.org/ website as well as to enroll for the monthly subscription to live a healthy and worry-free life. “Thank you, Joan” for all the creativity and hard work you put in to run the organization!

I've been a subscriber to Self Chec's NewsMinder for quite some time now, and it's always had the most useful, easy-to-understand information on health and well-being. With data from reliable sources, the newsletter and website work as informative, well-organised channels on various health topics that apply to every one of us at any given time. Self Chec has given the simple message of prevention the much-needed attention it needs in all of our lives. Keep up the good work!
What an amazing organization! For many young people such as myself, health is unfortunately not a priority until we are impacted by illness directly. The message, mission, dedication and commitment that Self chec has towards fighting terrible diseases such as cancer and promoting overall well-being is truly invaluable. I’m incredibly grateful to be involved with such an important organization and the amazing and selfless people behind the scenes. We’re all touched by illness and disease in someway over the course of our lives, but because of organizations like Self chec and individuals like Joan, maybe one day that won’t be the case.
selfchec is a great organization with an easy to navigate website that if full of invaluable information about how to live your healthiest life and the tools to achieve that.
The directions said "tell your story and help a charity get noticed". That's what concerned and caring people do all the time, notice and help others. Self Chec is all about helping yourself. We get so caught up in helping others that we don't take time for ourselves and how good of a caregiver, spouse, parent, friend, etc. can you be if you're not around? Self Chec reminds me to be selfish and look out for myself so that I look out for others like my 98 year old mother. Thank you Self Chec for reminding me on a regular basis to look out for myself!

You can have the best cause in the world and prevention/early detection of cancer and other chronic diseases certainly ranks among them. It is also evident that a cause without a passionate advocate has no impact. I had the great fortune of meeting Joan Peckolick, Director & Founder of Self chec, some years ago. Joan’s passion, enthusiasm, energy and selflessness inspired me to become involved as an advocate for Self chec. Self chec is truly Universal Health Care at its best and most importantly, it’s FREE.
If you love anyone, including yourself, you owe it to yourself to check out Self chec!
Self Chec is initiated from a mother, in response to her and her daughter facing a very common human plight – terminal disease that arrises in a family, where a husband and father had not had the benefit of early detection. Thus the site reaches out to humanity with all the useful information about chronic diseases, including early detection – instructions for checking oneself, and all the ins and outs of disease awareness and prevention. It is designed as a very human site; for people to share vital information with families and loved ones – info that can clearly save someone's life, if only we are diligent and attentive to read, incorporate, and pass it on.

As the obesity crisis and other health epidemics continue to rage in America (and beyond), a nonprofit that promotes proactive education and solutions is one to truly support. It makes me happy to see a cause like this be promoted in a tangible fashion as opposed to simple provision of false promises. Giving widespread access to help with their health should always be a core of a good healthcare association- a core that is exemplified by Self Chec Inc. Keep up the good work and good luck in the future!

Self-Chec is an incredibly important organization- spreading awareness and empowering people to keep up with their own health is not something many people think to do. As a college student, I was unaware that I need to already be checking my skin for moles and making preemptive appointments. Self-Chec encourages students like me to to be proactive about my health at a young age to avoid problems later on.
In my work as a copywriter and editor, I had the pleasure of interviewing Joan Peckolick and visiting the SelfCheck website. Self Chec reminds me that personal health not only affects the individual, but also their loved ones. It has inspired me to become more involved with my own health and to feel empowered in doing so. It inspires me to pass this feeling of empowerment along to those I love and those I don't know, because it is such an essential message.
I wasn't aware of the various ways I can keep my health in check in the comfort of my own home and daily routines. Thanks to Self Chec, I have been leading a healthier lifestyle and it feels empowering to know that I can do this all on my own.
Self Chec is a lifesaver - literally. As a stage 4 head and neck cancer survivor I cannot stress the importance of early detection. I was lucky - but "luck" is not enough. Please pay attention to this website and the valuable tools it offers. Self Chec is a reminder to all of us that we can take control of our health - and with early detection many cancers can be treated and/or cured. Thank you Self Check - Thank you Joan - for your wisdom, dedication and commitment to the health and well being of all......

Self chec is a lone leader on the prevention side of cancer-focused health. Centered around a healthy lifestyle that helps prevents cancer in the first place and encourages early detection to increase survivability is the closest thing we have to a cure right now. And that makes Self chec more important to those suffering today than a cure that lives in the future ever could.
Self Chec has the best kinds of missions: prevention. So much tragedy could be avoided if more people took the easy steps to keep cancer and disease from taking hold!
Not only does Self Chec have stand for a wonderful cause - prevention of cancer and other chronic diseases - it offers wonderful tools to the public to help realize its goal.
Joan, the founder of Self Chec, is warm and caring but also forward thinking about creating new tools and resources for people as we move deeper into the digital and virtual age. I am honored to be a part of the team that created Self Chec's inaugural hackathon to develop digital tools to help prevent breast cancer and look forward to future hackathons which will directly address other cancers and diseases.
It takes a special person and a special organization to fully embrace this kind of innovation and it deeply reflects Joan and Self Chec's dedication to make the world a healthier place by empowering people to make better choices.
I can't say enough about the importance of Self Chec Inc. This non-profit brings forth such awareness about the importance of prevention in health. It is that little nudge we all need to put our wellness first. As the owner of a Pilates and Barre Studio, I work everyday to help people understand the importance of movement but it is that extra step, and that pro active attitude that can mean the difference between life and death. Kudos to Joan Peckolick for her work with this amazing organization and for making us all look a little deeper into our habits of daily living!
Self Chec is quite a bit different than most health care sites in that it focuses completely on prevention. It is easy to navigate and contains critical information for users to avoid the traps that lead to major diseases and illnesses.
The site is visually appealing, which is uncommon in this sector. It presents information in a very readable manner.
I have recommended this site to friends and and they too have enjoyed the benefits.

Self Chec is a special non-profit that not only focuses on your well-being, but can literally help you have a healthier future. We often forget how important our health is and Self Chec reminds us to take vital steps towards a better tomorrow! We ignore small signs about our health and often hope it is nothing, but Self Chec reminds us to take a closer look at ourselves! Not only can it help us, but it can help our family and friends. It's an extraordinary organization that is dedicated to help the well-being of everyone. Let's help it grow and reminds everyone that prevention is the cure!
Self Chec is a wonderful organization because it aims to help everyone; It is constantly promoting tips and tricks to keep readers and their families and friends healthy and strong. I am only 22 years old, but because of the articles posted by this organization, I know how to prevent certain diseases like cancer and diabetes that could affect me later on in life. I also have been sharing the information that I've learned through Self Chec with my parents and grandparents to keep them healthy. After learning about the little things that we can do to stay healthy, we've been committed to eating healthier and exercising more often. Self Chec is a great organization and it has helped me and my family gain the information we needed to lead healthier lives.
Most health sites are for people struggling with a disease, and so much of the information is to eat healthy and exercise. Those are things people need to know about at as early an age as possible--and that's the beauty of Self chec--its focus is on prevention. Of course living the good life isn't enough to ward off every health problem. It also details the screenings that can help find illnesses early, not just MD tests but ones I can do at home. I've shared the site with friends and family. It should be mandatory for everyone who wants to stay healthy and life a long life--before you need sites about illnesses.
I really like the language and the visuals--it takes a lot of the embarrassment out of asking, how do I do this? It's all there
Cancer runs in my husband's family and because of that I want to know everything possible about prevention, for him and our children. My mother developed post menopausal breast cancer that was caught in stage 0 and is not considered inheritable, but I still want to be vigilant. Self Chec reminds me of how important prevention and awareness are--not just about cancer, but also the leading threats to health, diabetes, heart disease and more.

Self Chec does a great job at getting people to understand that early detection of so many illnesses is within one's own grasp. The powerful images support the message that we have to face life-threatening diseases head on, no matter how uncomfortable that is, that we need to look at our own bodies and fight for ourselves. Bravo to Joan Peckolick for creating this non-profit.
As a cancer survivor who required skin checks every few months, but wanted to put the "intruder" out of my mind and pretend everything was normal, the Self chec reminders were life savers. Presented in a non-threatening way, their messages, reminders and vision lent support and motivated me to take better care of myself, not only for me, but for my loved ones. Ellen Ziegler

Self chec is an extraordinary non-profit organization. Unlike any other. Why? First, because it is focused on prevention and wellness care. Not just treatment of sickness alone. Prevention is the first line of defense for people to stay healthy. While research is important to find cures for certain illnesses, more than one million people continue to die each year from cancer and other chronic diseases, that, if caught early enough through screening and early detection, would save many lives. Right now.
Next, Self chec understands that people often neglect taking better care of themselves because they think they don't have the time or believe it won't happen to them. But it can and it does. Don't we all know someone who died from cancer or heart disease or diabetes that could have been prevented, treated and possibly cured if caught early. The approach that Self chec uses to motivate people is a one-to-one personal communication. A caring card shop on the Website allows people to send a loving message to their friends, relatives and others they care about to tell them to take better care of themselves, because "your life is important to me". An emotional connection that works.
Finally, Self chec's method to help people be more self-empowered is to send them a monthly email reminder that notifies them each month to check their bodies and get a medical check up if they detect something suspicious. Self chec is working with many organizations to create greater awareness of prevention and early detection screenings. And developing new ideas for informing and engaging people of all ages, races and economic groups to act on staying healthy. Please join us. Your life and those you care about depends on it.
I have known Joan Peckolick (the founder of Self Chec) since we were both young teens. She has never wavered in her commitment to help people in her kind and caring way. She should be admired for her perseverance and her creativity used to create this very helpful site. It reminds people to take care of themselves and those that they care about. So many illnesses could be prevented or cured if found and treated early. I have personal experience with this in my family. Being proactive and "Self Chec-ing" has made all the difference.

Self Chec is absolutely amazing because of its simplicity. It shows the desire of its founders to make an impact in the world. By providing reminders and helping people prevent cancer, I am sure that they have saved millions of lives. Joan is absolutely wonderful and I am proud to work with her.
Self-Chec was a wonderful guest on our college campus, twice! Joan actively got students interested in Self-Chec's interactive website and e-Health reminders. She also provided our students with a wealth of information and resources regarding preventative health measures, which will hopefully be utilized by them for years to come. Self-Chec is always full of energy and enthusiasm for the cause and a pleasure to work with!
Self chec provides an invaluable service by "nudging" us to take better care of ourselves and to get preventative health screenings. Given the busyness of our everyday lives, it is very easy to postpone taking care of our health and to become the Self chec logo of the ostrich with our head in the sand. Having lost loved ones to cancer, I know how important it is to be proactive when it comes to health, and Self chec's reminders help me to keep this top of mind. Self chec also prods us to remind our loved ones about the importance of health screenings. Thank you Self chec!
