Provide participants for research since 1995, contributing to 5 systematic published studies on SM through 2003. Participated in the only 3 TV segments on SM, including Maury Povich 1991, Phil Donahue Show 1996 and 20/20 Connie Chung 1999 to educate the public. Major influence and input into reclassification of renaming the disorder previously named elective mutism to selective mutism and diagnostic criteria for DSM IV 1994.
