SEEDS for autism is an outstanding organization that serves young adult with autism . They help them develop skills that are needed in the work place through arts and creativity. It is a unique approach and it is the only organization in Arizona that currently is using this approach to empower adult with autism. It is not only a vocational training, it is an creative experience, an opportunity to explore and discover!! It is truly a "precious gem" program.

Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Autism, Disabilities, Health, Job Training
Mission: At SEEDs we provide education and vocational training for all functional levels of autism as well as providing resources for those on the autism spectrum. We are proud to be one of the leading Phoenix resources for autism and our programs let those with autism spectrum disorders explore possibilities and discover new skills in a structured environment.
Target demographics: Young adults with autism.
Geographic areas served: Phoenix, Arizona
Programs: This educational program for young adults teaches vocational job development skills while continuing to practice life and social skills. We develop program goals for each participant and work with our staff and professional artists to implement language and social skill goals while working on vocational techniques. Social skills classes and computer skills classes are also taught in small group settings. We work directly with each individual who comes to our program. Skills are taught in welding, sewing, weaving, woodturning, ceramics, jewelry, writing, computers and more. They don't come simply to learn arts and crafts, as all products are specific in detail and construction, and have proven to be the best form of job training.
