Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The second mile center is a small, faith based, non profit organization providing jobs, job training, life skills training and character building to inner city poor challenged by additions, lack of education, criminal backgrounds. Etc. During 2017 approximately 46 adults participated in the programs.
Programs: The hiring and training of the targeted group described in part iii #1. 80% of our employees are ex-offenders, some of them are on parole. Our main expense is the the wages and related costs of giving them employment and the opportunity to get back on their feet and re-enter society. Those expenses are their wages, taxes, insurance and other related benefits. (total all expenses $636,073. 27). Wages and benefits paid to the director, associate director and business manager are not included in the program expenses recorded at the top of this section. Second mile received no grants from this.
