Mission: Second Chances delivers free, empowering clothing to homeless and low-income people in Cambridge and Somerville, Massachusetts, working in partnership with local homelessness and social service agencies. Mission statement Second Chances puts donated clothing to work for our community, diverting clothing, shoes, and accessories from local landfills while helping our neighbors in need take their first steps toward brighter futures.
Results: Since 2005, Second Chances has provided free clothing, shoes, accessories and gift cards to more than 4,500 lower income and homeless people in and around Cambridge and Somerville, Massachusetts and recycled or reused more than 2,250,000 pounds of clothing, shoes and accessories. Our clothing donation program supports people in need in our community and simultaneously conserves natural resources, diverting textile waste from our area's already overflowing landfills. Working closely with local partners, Second Chances and its community are helping neighbors, connecting with other community members, and respecting our environment.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 400 people received clothing and we distributed approximately 850 pairs of new socks
