My Second Chance journey began in February of 2023, when I heard about the work this organization was doing in the Dominican Republic and Haiti at a youth conference called Walking Wisely Weekend. Leaving the conference inspired and yearning for missions, my parents and I decided to go on a mission trip, something I had never done before. Last July was the moment I realized and said to myself "this is where the Lord wants me to be." So I pursued an internship opportunity to still continue my involvement in missions! All the glory goes to God for getting to this place in my journey!
I fell in love with Second Chance from the heart behind the water filtration system video played at that youth conference, to the beat I felt in my own heart being on the ground in the Dominican Republic. I could not be more excited about being hands and feet working for the Lord both internationally and statewide.

Programs: We do this through various programs and initiatives partnering with children, young adults, and families. We believe that generational poverty crosses the areas of mental, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical health. -Spiritual poverty ends through freedom in Jesus. -Physical poverty ends with access to medical care and basic needs. -Emotional poverty ends through restored dignity and purpose. -Mental poverty ends through access to quality education. -Social poverty ends through access to opportunity. Breaking the poverty cycle for one individual after another is the legacy we are called to leave.
