Mission: Millions of families across the United States are grappling with the devastating effects of addiction. For parents in recovery, the challenges extend far beyond overcoming substance use—they often face systemic barriers like homelessness, lack of transportation, and minimal access to resources that could help them reunite with their children. These barriers prevent many parents from meeting court-mandated requirements, leaving them unable to regain custody despite their dedication to sobriety and recovery. Currently, over 80,000 children are in foster care due to parental addiction. Without access to affordable housing, transportation, job assistance, and family support, many parents in recovery remain trapped in an endless cycle of separation and despair. Families like mine need a safety net—a network of resources to help bridge the gap between recovery and reunification. Second Chance Families was born out of my personal struggle and the vision to ensure no other parent or child experiences the pain of being separated due to a lack of resources. Our mission is to empower families affected by addiction through transitional housing, job training, parenting classes, transportation support, and family therapy, helping them build stability and meet the requirements to reunify with their children. By supporting us, you are investing in a solution that not only reunites families but also breaks the cycle of addiction and systemic failure. Your funding will provide essential services to parents like me—individuals who are determined to create better futures for themselves and their children, if only given the chance.
