so blessed to have such amazing team members who go above and beyond to help those in need.their countless hours they put in to helping is a selfless act of love ❤️
They truly care for all of their rescues. Our community appreciates that they specialize in exotics such as birds and reptiles as there are so few options for these animals and the type of care that they need.
This group is one of the most dedicated and hard working rescue that I know. I've gotten numerous birds from them and follow their posts on social media daily. I can't say enough about their commitment to rescuing unwanted birds and rehabilitating them so they can be adopted out by loving homes. I am sure they don't receive enough in donations and frequently use their own money to buy food and vet care. They definitely should be on the top ten list.
Wonderful Rescue! Knowledgeable staff. Truly care about the animals and their proper placement.

All of my birds came from Second Chances. Barb & Sabrina are always there to help me when I need anything fir them!
I needed to rehome our bird due to unforeseen circumstances and I contacted Second Chance Bird & Reptile Rescue. I dealt with Sabrina. She was so caring and understanding and as sad as it was to have give up our beautiful bird, I left knowing she was in good hands.
I was so happy to have learned about this rescue place! I had wanted to adopt a pair of budgies after my beloved parrot of 35 years had passed away. They matched me up with the sweetest pair - I couldn’t be happier with them! I highly recommend Second Chance Bird and Reptile Rescue. They’re friendly and professional and really care about finding good, committed homes for their rescues.
The intake people and fosters at this organization LOVE the animals, and do whatever they can to ensure safe and happy placement for birds and reptiles alike.

Although I have not adopted through this organization, I have "liked" them on Facebook, and I see all of their posts. I have donated food and supplies on several occasions. I know that the organization is run by caring and compassionate people who love animals. As a bird lover myself, I am particularly thrilled when birds are adopted through their organization. I would not hesitate to recommend this organization!
Iv been lucky eboguht to adopt two different reptiles from them. They do a great job screeing owners and educating on correct care. I can't wait till I have more room for another.
I love this rescue! To find a rescue that takes in exotic pets is hard in my area. The foster homes and head of the rescue are all knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. I’ve adopted 2 adult leopard geckos and an adult Ball Python. I had a great experience with the adoption process. Be patient and respectful as they work full time on top of running the rescue.
The Second Chance Bird and Reptile Rescue crew are filling a need to find homes for birds and reptiles, within our community. Many times people get these animals not realizing what they need. Everyone at the rescue are caring and diligent on finding the right home for each animal thar comes into their care. I have adopted 3 snakes and a bird from them.
I have adopted a few different rescues from here and I will never go anywhere else! The staff is amazing as well
I have adopted two birds from Second Chance. Wonderfully cared-for animals by very knowledgeable volunteers.
I have been with this rescue over 10 years now by far the best that work and volunteer to help people that are in need of finding there beloved flock or reptile a new home we focus on the animal and where they end up I am so blessed to be a part of such and amazing rescue.
I have had the pleasure of working with this rescue a few times! Wonderful caring people that truly want whats best for each animal placed! In my opinion what a rescue should be! If you aren't in a position to rescue an animal consider a donation!
I adopted both my tortoise and bearded dragon from Second Chance. It was a great experience. I appreciated their application process and feedback prior to adopting, and recommend them to anyone looking to add a reptile to their family!
We surrendered our green cheek conures, Goose and Gander, a few weeks ago after loving them for 9 years. We made this extremely difficult decision due to lack of space and time, and one of the birds disliking our two year old. They just weren’t getting the attention they deserve. It was one of the hardest, most heartbreaking things we’ve ever had to do, but Sabrina has made it as good of an experience as it can be. She was empathetic to our situation and reassured us we were making the right decision. She requires potential adopters to go through an extensive application process to make sure the birds (and reptiles) end up in the best home possible. She has been wonderful about keeping us updated and sending us pictures/videos of the birds, which has been helping our family get through this. I have no doubt they’re currently in great care with Sabrina and that she will find them a fantastic home.
I had to sell my house and had to surrender my birds, one I had for 15 years. Second chance was compassionate and I left my babies in their hands knowing they would find a great home for them.
I have worked with and adopted multiple birds from SCBRC and I can’t say enough good things about them! The animals are in excellent health for being rescues, the vetting process is thorough and fair, and the birds I adopted even came with cages. They do a wonderful job evaluating each animal to make sure they really match them with the best families and vis versa.
I have adopted 2 animals from this rescue... My bearded dragon (George), and our female cockatiel (Patches). They are wonderful to work with, and are very selective when choosing homes for the animals. I would definitely adopt from them again in the future!
My first adoption from Second Chance was about 17 years ago, and my second was 7 years ago. I volunteered at the rescue for a while as well, and I can attest to how much love, dedication and hard work goes into caring for every bird and reptile. They make sure the animals are healthy, which includes putting a lot of personal money into vet care (please donate if you can!), and that the animals go to great homes that are the right fit, and not just to anyone.
