Mission: To stimulate creativity and environmental awareness in children and adults by reuse of materials that traditionally have been discarded as waste.
Results: In the past 40 years SCRAP has: • Served more than 10,000 teachers • Helped over 100,000 students • Inspired approximately one zillion artists • Hosted many hundreds of people in workshops and classes. • Served more than half a million customers in our depot

Direct beneficiaries per year: 500 teachers, 50,000 students, > 3,000 artists and many others.
Geographic areas served: San Francisco and the Bay Area
Programs: SCRAP helps teachers get the classroom supplies they need, and artists find the materials and inspiration to make great work. We do this by diverting useful materials that would otherwise go to landfill, and making those materials available at no or low cost to teachers, artists, nonprofits and others. In the past 40 years, SCRAP has diverted more than 10,000,00 pounds of materials from landfills.
