Causes: Education, Primary & Elementary Schools
Mission: To prepare the children of the greater jewish community for success in life. Each child will be provided with a quality torah and secular education with emphasis on spiritual, moral, and social growth. We will impress upon each child the beauty and splendor of the jewish way of life.
Programs: Scranton hebrew day school provides a comprehensive judaic and general studies curriculum to children grades kindergarten through eighth. The school is licensed by the pennsylvania board of education. Its general studies curriculum consists of math, science, history, and english. Depending on the grade, emphasis is placed on handwriting, reading, or writing as deemed necessary. Scranton hebrew day school offers extra-curricular developmental activities such as music and library. They also sponsor field trips for the students. The school hosts a prayer service on a weekly basis; the prayer follows the orthodox jewish tradition. Students, as well as alumni, are encouragd to join and participate.
