I joined this rescue as a volunteer when I pledged to save an injured German Shepherd on a county shelter website. This group saved his life and I wanted to know more about the group that took an injured dog and gave him a chance in life. Within my first visits I realized that the work being done was from the heart. The rescue is a German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois specific rescue. I had been "owned" by GSD my whole life after having my first GSD as a little girl. I loved the breed and wanted to help. It's hard work because you see the rough and difficult side of rescue work - neglect, abuse, abandonment, injured, sick and pregnant without care. What makes is worth it is seeing a dog go from near death to living a life in a forever loving home to seeing puppies that were fighting to survive from Parvo they got in a backyard breeding environment grow to be search and rescue or therapy dogs. Donors and supporters have an open look at what is done with the donations and money raised. The stories are shared on their Facebook so everyone becomes a part of the family. Shadow and Stetson are my last two foster failure. Oscar and Aza were my first fosters and they both lived out their lives in our home. I am a donor, a volunteer, a foster mom and an adopter.
