I started volunteering 2years ago after I retired and
OST my 16 year old kitty who passed away. It really helped me to volunteer because I could help care for the kitties, play with them and intodthem to potential owners. I have really enjoyed working with all the volunteers and staff at Saving One Life.
I have never experienced a rescue that is willing to go above and beyond to save animals like Saving One Life. I foster for them and among the many I have fostered I have had a blind cat from an abuse case who was nursed back to health and found a wonderful home, a cat that couldn't deliver naturally so they paid for an emergency caesarian so her 4 kittens could be born alive and healthy, a cat with intussusception who wouldn't have made it without emergency surgery, just a few of the hundreds of stories I could tell. All of the cats who are rescued by Saving One Life come into loving foster homes where they are treated for all there medical needs and emotional well being before going up for adoption.

I am a foster for this organization. There are no paid employees, every dime goes toward the medical, food and care of each cat and kitten we save. I have never seen a non-profit with so many caring and dedicated volunteers. Every cat or kitten we take in goes directly into foster until they are fully vetted, socialized, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Then our volunteers at our petsmart locations care for them daily until they are adopted. Our vets are always amazed at the lengths we go to save the felines in our care, when others would give up due to costs saving one life does everything they possibly can to save each and every precious life.
Saving One Life Rescue is a caring and dedicated Rescue for all cats that have been abandoned to kittens that need special care. I found my Sassy Cera and adopted her. She is such a wonderful addition to our home!
In January 2016 my cat, Mynx had to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I thought I wouldn't get another cat for awhile since I did have two dogs and travel for work alot. Then in December I got the kitten itch. In January 2017, I saw Saving One Life's (SOL) flyer that talked about Fostering. I thought - constant kitten fix!! I joined and to date, I have had 26 foster cats/kittens. I love them ALL. SOL really cares about each and every feline that we take in. They make sure they have the best care and love and they make sure each kitten/cat is matched with their purrfect human family. Adopting a kitten is a long commitment - ~20 years. We want the kitten and the human to be happy with each other. If any of our kittens are sick, we get the best medical care. Many of our volunteers and vet tech or related backgrounds and they will travel to the kittens to evaluate and help care for them. I just love this organization because it is so fulfilling and being a foster mom means I get kitten purrs and biscuits all the time!
After witnessing the process that an adopter has to go through first hand, I knew I needed to become a part of the SOL family. So many rescues have an "application process" but SOL is the first one that I've worked with that actually does what the process claims to do which told me that Carrie and the organization really do care about the home each cat goes to. It's not just about finding homes for these babies, it's about finding the right home!
I started volunteering for saving one life about a year and a half ago. I lost my kitty 16 years old and was heartbroken. I knew I wanted to get another kitty at some point but I wasn't ready. I decided to volunteer my time which I have greatly enjoyed spending with the kiddies and helping out saving one life. It's so enjoyable and fulfilling to go in and take the kitties out of their kennels, play with them, take care of them and watch them be adopted by wonderful people. The organizer and all the volunteers are amazing ! Everyone truly cares to make sure that the kitties have the best that they can have. I will enjoy my time volunteering and hopefully, even after I have my own kitty,I will still be a volunteer!
I was looking for a place to volunteer some time and found Saving One Life. I started as an adoption center volunteer, going in to the adoption center at Petsmart a couple times a month to clean the kennels and spend some time with the cats/kittens but I was so impressed with the organization and how hard everyone works to save these animals that I went ahead and became a foster. The care and love of every single person in this group for their charges is amazing and I feel very grateful to have found such an excellent group!
The kids and I started as volunteers in one of the PetSmart locations. After a few months of volunteering with the kittens we started fostering. Saving One Life supplies all the litter, food, medical supplies, blankets, beds, and the necessary information to make this a great foster experience. If you need something or have a question there is always someone there to help guide you. The adoption process is also very detailed and well planned. Each feline is loved and cared for before being placed in their forever homes.
