To Whom It May Concern:
I believe this organization is doing EXACTLY what is says it does - attempting to save animals from extinction - by lobbying the US Government. (This may be a losing proposition due to the disgusting partisanship and rampant corruption that exist in certain areas, but that is a different story).
I, too, was a bit leery of this this group at first, because I saw that Charity Navigator did not rate it. Then I took the time to understand why . Here is the EXACT wording from the Charity Navigator site:
SAVE ANIMALS FACING EXTINCTION cannot be evaluated by our Impact & Measurement methodology because it is not a 501(c)(3) IRS registered nonprofit.
Charity Navigator currently only evaluates nonprofits registered with the IRS as 501(c)(3) organizations. 501(c)(3) nonprofits are tax-exempt and eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions.
SAVE ANIMALS FACING EXTINCTION is a 501(c) (4) organization - so of course Charity Navigator CANNOT evaluate it. It IS a NONPROFIT organization, and it DOES have a good record (at least at the time I am writing this - Sep 2024).
Secondly, I agree that the scenes shown in some advertisements are horrific and nauseating. THEY ARE DESIGNED TO BE THAT WAY, because the actual situation is FAR WORSE. Simply ASKING humans to give money to a worthy cause is not enough - virtually everyone will ignore that request. These days, people need to be quickly educated on the reasons WHY they must donate NOW. If you ignore the rationale for the ad content, and only focus on your reaction, then you are missing the point.
PLEASE send them a few dollars, and then you can tune them out, or change the channel, or whatever, in good conscience.
Thank you for your time.
Excellent charity that lobbies the government to save wildlife. They have a different title than most non-profits. I have been supporting them since they began and follow them closely. THIS IS IMPORTANT. As for the reviewer who said “they prey on people’s fear”.... no they do NOT. They tell exactly what is happening. Many species WILL be extinct in no time due to poaching and trafficking. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN FACT AND HAS BEEN FOR SOMETIME! The reviewer sounds like a hunter and NRA supporter spreading FALSE INFORMATION AROUND. Do your research and contact them. Their contact information is CLEARLY listed on their website! Because a charity is not listed under charity navigator does NOT make them illegitimate!!!!
This organization is not rated by Charity Navigator, an organization I rely on for information about charitable organizations, how their money is raised and spent.
Other than this, several weeks ago I tried to email Save Animals... but problems with their site did not allow emailing, and I tried a number of times. I then sent a letter through the mail and have never received a reply. I was interested in more information about their organization and specifics about how their money is used to save animals.
The above are valuable lessons about charitable organizations and are the reasons I do not contribute to Save Animals Facing Extinction.
I am taking issue with the other review on this organization. You say you have no experience with the organization and then go on to give a scathing review. Wouldn't have been fairer to the company to actually do a little research before making your claims so you would have some idea of what you were talking about? Yours is a grossly unfair review of this organization. I hope you will do some research and upgrade or retract it.

For starters, you claim you don't think they are a 501(c)3. That is because they are a 501(c)4. The difference in the designations is that it allows them to lobby Congress and other government officials.
I have no experience with this organization, except to say their emails are IMO offensively calculated to. appeal to anger and fear, and it appears they are not an IRS approved 503 charity. They are also not rated by any reputable charity-rating site yet. I would be cautious about giving money to them.
