Save A Kitty 2019
I have been a faithful supporter of Debbie Eskcow and Save A Kitty California since January 2016 when we adopted two beautiful Siamese kittens, Prince Judah and Princess Grace. Then ten months later my husband and I adopted another rescue Siamese from Save A Kitty California and named him Prince Zion. Debbie was great counseling me every step of the way as I introduced a new cat to the family. Today my 3 Siamese are loving, happy and thriving. They are the most beautiful kitties with tons of personality. They even have their own Facebook page 3 Siamese Tales! I often wonder who rescued whom but it’s clear that they rescued me. Caring for them and the unconditional love give rescued me from the depths of depression. I truly believe they saved my life! Because of this I am eternally grateful to Save A Kitty California and their dedication and commitment to all animals especially the felines. In November of 2018, we adopted two more stunningly beautiful kitties, Little Faith and Little Hope from Save A Kitty! Integrating The Littles in to our existing family with The Royals has not been easy however Debbie has been there the entire time. The bottomline is that my husband and I have a special place in our hearts for kitties and we have so much love, a spacious home and means to take care of them. They had enriched our lives even the more!!!
We love Save A Kitty and honor the dedication, commitment, love and care they give to all the rescues. So often, they rescue the kitties no one else wants due to their compromised medical conditions. They never take the easy way out! They go the extra mile time after time to ensure that all of the kitties get the medical care and attention they require and spare no expense. They are so deserving of this grant and it would help them to build a Kitty Sanctuary on the grounds they recently purchased so that they can save even more. Please choose Save A Kitty!
Mr. Robert & Mrs. Alesheia Bush, Prince Zion, Prince Judah, Princess Grace, Little Faith and Little Hope!
I’ve known Debbie Eskcow for nearly three years now. I first was introduced to her after the loss of my beautiful 18 year old Siamese Sapphire. I was so distraught after his death that my husband decided to find another companion for me. My husband found two Siamese for adoption and contacted Debbie. The condition was an extension application and a home inspection. Oh, and they had to be adopted together because they had bonded so. Well, Debbie drove nearly three hours to our home in Orange County. The rest is history because we fell in love and she went home empty handed. During the whole time, she was there to answer any questions and was a great support. About 10 months later, we found out that she had rescued a sibling of my two so we agreed to bring him in to the fold. I have to admit that the integration was not an easy on but she was there every step of the way as I acclimated Zion in to the fold.
Over the past three years, I have witnessed Debbie’s passion for the work and mission of Save A Kitty California. She works tirelessly and remains in contact with so many of us adoptive parents. She has become a real friend and forever Auntie to my Three Siamese!
I also have contributed to Save A Kitty for the past three years because I believe in their work and the heart and soul of Save A Kitty’s mission!

I have volunteered several times with Debbie. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to help her and at the same time to learn from someone so knowledgeable about the care of our feline friends. Over the years, Debbie has cared for many kittens or cats with various ailments… those with serious illnesses, those that were abused or injured and those that are traumatized by being abandoned. All I can say is that the way Debbie takes care of these babies is an amazing sight to see. Debbie is tireless and nothing is more important to her than the wellbeing of her cats. I know for a fact that few rescue organizations can match that devotion. Save A Kitty most definitely deserves to be recognized as one of the best rescue organizations that exist.
Save a Kitty is a cat (and sometimes dogs) rescue organization that is extremely caring about every step of the fantastic work they do. They refuse to turn a blind eye to animal suffering and are very thorough in their home vetting to make sure that each animal that was rescued and nurtured by them is eventually settled in a loving forever home. I have volunteered with Debbie and Sue and have seen firsthand how hard they work and their unwavering commitment to save lives. I applaud Save A Kitty!
Save A Kitty is probably the organization the most deserving of financial aid that exists. Debbie Eskow has worked tirelessly for over twenty years to rescue and save the lives of hundreds of cats …..and many dogs as well. Debbie has devoted her life to healing, nursing and nurturing the kittens and cats in her care. She never refuses to take in another abandoned or ailing feline, even though she can ill afford the hefty veterinary bills, which is why she is so deserving of financial aid. Debbie is also extremely particular about adoptions. She only adopts out to people who have passed home screenings and where she is sure that the kitten or cat will have a safe and loving home.
Debbie and Sue at Save A Kitty are devoted to their work and tireless in their efforts to take care of each and every kitten, cat or dog that comes their way. A friend got me involved in volunteering for Debbie and I have to admit that it was eye opening to me to see how much effort and time goes into this kind of work. It is in fact a 24-hour a day job, seven –days a week…at least it is for Debbie and Sue. Their world is really the love and care of these poor animals and their rewards are to see them rehabilitated and ready if possible for adoption, but only to homes that pass the stringent home check! Cats and kittens from Save A Kitty may have spent months being cared for before Debbie would even dream of putting them up for adoption. New owners, who are very carefully chosen by Debbie, will bring home healthy and well-adjusted pets.
It has been an honor for me to spend time at Save A Kitty. I do know that they do not receive enough funding, so I hope that the animal loving community will become aware of the truly selfless and important work they do and help them to continue and to do even more!
Save A Kitty is a fantastic rescue. Debbie, who founded the rescue, goes above and beyond for the cats (and dogs too!) in her rescue. She is also known to help cats and dogs in the community when there is need. There is no one who loves animals more than Debbie. Her dedication to save lives is amazing. You will have a hard time finding a better non profit than Save A Kitty Inc.
As a board member of Save A Kitty, we have and will continue to save thousands of lives. We are a all volunteer rescue group and I am very proud to be a member of Save A Kitty.
Debbie pours her heart & Love into this organization and it shows!
What an amazing non-profit, solely fueled by love and compassion!!!
We could all stand to learn from the way they go about saving and enriching lives by connecting human and animal soulmates solely for the sake of doing the right thing.
Thanks for your passion and dedication Save-A-Kitty!
Save A Kitty, Inc. continues to shine and rise above as a high quality grass roots rescue with never wavering on the level of devotion, love, dedication and hard work to rescue every last one and medically care for, feed, socialize, educate people on the various issue levels of concern; aging, rescuing, feeding babies, proper care, types of food, adoption transitions, medical concerns, etc.
Over the past ten years, upon my initial working with this rescue, of what caused me to choose Save A Kitty, Inc. for help to why I still support, respect, and recommend this rescue IS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE DIFFERENCE THIS WORLD NEEDS, THEY ARE THEY CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. The love and whole hearted dedication to truly SAVING LIVES, and being the difference in honestly helping animals LIVE QUALITY LIVES is superior.
SAVE A KITTY, INC. IS SUPERB!
Save A Kitty Inc. is still hands down THE MOST devoted animal rescue with the biggest heart. They continue to go above and beyond with rescues in all aspects. The care provided to the animals once rescued by them is above the norm; each animal is given the utmost best care and love. They never quit until the animal is healthy, comfortable or have rescued the last baby/mother. It amazes me every story about the latest rescue how dedicated and compassionate Save A Kitty Inc. is to each rescue. Every animal is lovingly named and truly loved. Every rescue thrives because of the love put into healing them. These rescues transform into even more beautiful creatures- because Save A Kitty Inc gives them a second chance. These rescues grow into loving, trusting, affectionate pets because every ounce around them once rescued is love. Love heals, love thrives, LOVE SAVE A KITTY INC!
I am forever grateful to Save A Kitty Inc for all the advice this non profit has given me through the years. In many instances, their knowledge has helped me figure out serious health conditions of my rescues and how to properly care for them, warning signs to look out for and what to discuss with my vets.
Thank you Save A Kitty Inc. I applaud your outstanding efforts for the high quality care, continued dedication to all rescues and the incredible knowledge you share.
As I sit here with my amazing cats it's easy to want to thank Save A Kitty, and Debbie Eskow for what they have done for me personally, but the larger picture is what she does for so many other cats. For these many felines living on the street, and in horrid situations, she is literally a life saver. She drives many miles and goes into some terrible places to bring these babies to love and safety. She is vigilant in then finding the perfect home for each one. These animals are her life and her passion. One cannot say enough wonderful things about Debbie and her organization.
I stumbled on to Save a Kitty through Facebook. I applied and Debbie fixed me up to foster the sweetest baby girl. I fell in love with my darling angel and adopted her within two weeks.
I then met Debbie again at Petco During that second week and got my little Roo a brother. We had a double adoption. Save a Kitty made us a happy home.
We love our kitties and we keep in touch with Debbie and follow all the new cat happenings online. I hope one day to foster again
Save A Kitty once again has been diligent in our mission of relieving
the suffering of homeless, abandoned and feral cats and kittens living
on the streets of Los Angeles. Debbie and Randy Eskow have worked
tirelessly to insure that all of the animals in their care receive
nothing but the best of everything (medical care, food, housing, etc).
While they may not be able to take in every single animal in need on
this planet, they do their very best in helping as many as they can.
Debbie is one of the only animal rescues that actually answers her
phone, not only during the day, but also all hours of the night. They
are a tremendous resource to their community not only with education and
moral support, but also helping out with vet bills, TNR, and assisting
low-income and elderly individuals by helping with veterinary bills
and spaying and neutering costs, thus enabling the people to keep their
animals rather than surrendering them to our over-loaded city and county
shelters. Exciting news...in the last year, Save A Kitty has now purchased 8 acres of land in order to build the Save A Kitty Sanctuary. They are now busy working on fundraising for this amazing project. Congratulations Save A Kitty, Inc. for once again going above and beyond the call of duty and doing so much more than any other rescue! You are THE BEST!
Save A Kitty has been a tremendous asset to the community. We help when other organizations will not. From helping with veterinary costs for not only cats but also dogs in need to getting cats and kittens out of horrifically dangerous situations, Save A Kitty tries to do as much as we can with the limited resources and volunteers we have at our disposal. The attached video is just one of many orphaned bottle baby kittens that Save A Kitty, Inc. rescued this past year.
I was living in Pasadena, CA...watching over a dear friend's house for a year while they were working overseas. They had a stray cat that they had adopted 6 years prior to my moving in, so I already knew I was entrusted to take care of their furry, loving, outdoor feline daughter. About two months after I moved in, I noticed two other strays, both female, had begun to live on the property. I did what I felt I had to do, which was to put food out for everyone. Well, both of the new strays became pregnant and had their litters. They each had 5. I became very close with the mother of one of the litters. Ultimately, only 3 of her kittens survived and I have since adopted them. They are lying beside me as I write this. The other litter of 5 was much more feral and lived outdoors in the backyard..
About a month before I moved into the house, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It was and continues to be a very difficult time for me. I have continued to develop a series of issues related to the MS. Chasing after and capturing the feral 5 was not something that I was capable of doing. Yet, I knew I had to somehow trap and domesticate the remaining litter of kittens before the owners of the house returned. So, I researched online to see if there were any groups that could assist me. That is how my path crossed with that of Debbie Eskow and the Save A Kitty family, and I am so blessed that that happened. Debbie came to the house, driving from a great distance, and brought the necessary traps to corral the kittens. I was given permission from the owner of the house to sequester the kittens in the downstairs bathroom. Within 36 hours, I had all 5 kittens trapped and in the bathroom. within the next two weeks, Debbie, her husband Randy, and her colleague Sue were back at the house to re-trap the kittens in the bathroom and transfer them to a foster care home, run by one of her team members, Selina. My efforts to domestic the kittens was hindered by a couple of trips to the hospital for me, as well as some air conditioning issues in the house.
I am happy to report that all five kittens are domesticated and have homes. They are so sweet and beautiful. I have never been a cat person, though I have always loved all animals. But, after this experience...and having my three furry kids around me...I honestly don't know who is rescuing who.
The bottom line is this...There is absolutely no chance that I would have made it through everything with all of these cats and kittens had it not been for the help and incredible work of the Save A Kitty organization. Through our collective efforts, we saved 10 cats. Cats, that otherwise would have remained feral and almost certainly would have suffered a cruel fate. Now, they are part of a family.
What Save A Kitty does is amazing and they should be lauded as a savior for cats, kittens, and rescuers like me. Without them, I would have been rather lost and there is not telling what the fate of all the kittens would have been. There are so many stray cats and kittens in LA and the surrounding areas. Many will not survive. Many of those that find homes will only do so with the help of organizations like Save A Kitty. Their efforts are invaluable and I thank God every day that they came into my life and the lives of all the cats that were saved.
Save A Kitty is the best animal rescue group I have ever known. In my experience, they give much more to the animal loving community than most other organizations. I once found an abandoned kitten and tried to speak to someone at several much bigger organizations, but they never even returned my calls. I eventually found Debbie and am grateful for all the help she gave me that enabled me to keep the little kitten. Since then I have adopted other kittens from Debbie, who is tireless and devoted to her work. My vote goes unequivocally to Save A Kitty for being the organization the most deserving of financial aid.
I am so happy to have found Save A Kitty and to have had the volunteering of working with them. They are an extremely dedicated group of people that do an outstanding job rescuing and finding homes for hundreds of cats. I am proud to know the people at Save A Kitty and thoroughly recommend them to anyone who needs help or advice about a cat.
Save A Kitty is without a doubt one of the most dedicated non-profits I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Debbie, the founder, is an animal lover through and through. I previously managed a pet store where she held adoption events and her adoptable babies are the most well cared for I have ever seen. She is selective and makes sure her babies go to the best homes. Although she is not as well funded as many other groups, she never refuses to help a cat or a dog in need. I highly recommend donating to this organization as all proceeds go to help animals in need.
Save A Kitty is one of the most dedicated rescue organizations I have had the pleasure of working with. I manage a pet store for a major chain, where Save A Kitty does mobile adoptions. Never before have I seen such well cared for and loved kitties! Debbie's passion for her pets in unmatched and inspiring! Regardless of her circumstances, she never fails to help an animal in need. I wish everyone had her passion for animals!
I recently adopted two beautiful kittens from this wonderful organization. My mother has spent decades in charity work, specifically working with animals. I can tell you from experience that Debbie, the founder, and Sue, her faithful amazing volunteer, both have their head and their hearts in the right place for this work. I was so blown away by their commitment, level of care and attention to detail throughout the entire adoption process. And it didn't stop there. Both have kept in touch and have shown incredible love and support as we transition these new babies into our household. I would highly recommend adopting, donating or volunteering for this incredible organization.
Absolutely paws down the best rescue. Debbie is a kind caring wonderful lady that works hard to save these helpless angels . I refer all my friends and acquaintances to save a kitty .here is photo of my most recent rescue Reese.
The people at " save a kitty " are the best folks i ve ever encounted . I ve been rescuing animals for more than 20 years and these people embody what rescue is all about , they are kind , dependable ,they are truly an exceptional group of people . I plan to adopt from them agsin and again.and recomend them to all my friends:)
Save a Kitty is an amazing nonprofit cat rescue that I came into contact with when I was desperately reaching out trying to find help for some homeless cats I found a few years ago. Debbie (ceo/founder) helped me and gave me advice and since then I have been volunteering and fostering to help them in anyway I can. I love Save a Kitty because all proceeds go to the kittys and the education they provide for the public is so valuable. The health and well being of every cat and kitten taken in is the priority and that is why I love to be a part of Save a kitty.
What can i say about Save A Kitty... and Debbie and Sue... other than that they are absolute saints!!
When I first saw "Scroungy" ... ( he is now renamed Lionheart)... sitting alone in a filthy alley in the San Fernando valley, his fur all matted, teeth completely missing, and with a cough that sounded like a human hacking on a cigarette... I had no idea where to turn for help.
I began calling around to rescues, hunting online for anyone that could help this poor soul. And he needed help pretty badly. Not only did he look like the saddest cat in the world... but
I didn't think he had long to live.
Well... no one responded... except for that call from Debbie. And boy, it was fast from there! Both Debbie and Sue met me at the alley the next day and scoped it out. Before I knew it, I was sitting in a vehicle at 3:30 am with Sue... (and eventually Jan)... with a pair of binoculars and a drop trap at the end of a 150 ft string!
We finally got him... (no easy feat with 12 other alley cats roaming around, plus a few opossums and raccoons just to add a bit of flavor)... and today he is safe, with Save A Kitty out in the Antelope Valley. He has been to the vet ... (all bills paid for!), put on a course of antibiotics, and finally...bathed!
Lionheart still needs a lot of TLC and vet care to make it round the next corner... but if you visit Save A Kitty's Facebook page and look at the videos of him there, and Debbie, and Randy ( Debbie's husband)... interacting with him... it just melts your heart, they are so caring and compassionate with him. Just brilliant!
And their website... which has Lionheart's story... in his "own words"...
Anyway... this is long way of saying just what an amazing rescue and team Save A Kitty is. These guys are the real deal. When no one stepped forward to help, they actually did. Answered the phone and physically got involved, in the blink of an eye.
I will never forget what they did ... (and are still doing)... to help Lionheart, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I'd give them 10 stars if I could!
The love and dedication in Save A Kitty warms my heart. Many animal rescues are just so wonderful but my experience in dealing with Save A Kitty has been heartwarming.
First class rescue , by far superior to any I ve encountered. Debbie doesn't t just talk she does the work , she is a true hero .
Save A Kitty has to be one of the most prolific rescues ever. Debbie's commitment to these animals is unsurpassed. I wish more organizations were this meticulous in their care.
Save a Kitty gives me the chance to put my love for animals into action in practical ways that make a real impact. It's easy to support a cause in theory but it makes you a better person when you give of yourself--your time, your talents and/or your funds--to those core values that define who you are.
This organization is full of people with that level of commitment and integrity to their beliefs and I enjoy working with them on behalf of animals that want nothing more than a full tummy and an open heart to love them. Saving these little lives makes my life feel more meaningful and working with this team at Save a Kitty reminds me of the powerful and positive change that dedicated people can achieve when we stand up for those who need us most.
Save a Kitty is as compassionate as they are relentless in their indominatable drive to save lives. It's been a pleasure to volunteer for an organization that puts one hundred percent of their resources and efforts into making a huge impact for cats, kittens and dogs that have no where to turn and no one to trust. Save a Kitty does the tireless, often thankless, work that gives animals a chance at a loving home because they refuse to turn a blind eye to suffering. Thousands of animals are now living wonderful lives because of SAK!
I've seen Save a Kitty in action--at adoptions, giving out traps and guidance to those who are concerned about strays suffering in their neighborhoods, finding foster homes, and taking care of the cats and kittens housed in their sanctuary because they are "unadoptable" do to their age or behavioral issues. What they do can't be put into a few words becasue every day is different, bringing new challenges and requiring new solutions.
Executive Director Debbie Eskow is a force of nature, never waivering in her tireless fight to take every phone call that comes in asking for help. In the face of the most seemingly impossible odds her profound love for animals pushes her and she always finds a way to help. Save a Kitty is a small but committed group who make a huge impact because they care too much to give up those little lives that have nowhere else to turn.
I love Save a Kitty!! I would not volunteer for a place that I did not stand behind 100 percent. You can see how much effort and love is put into rescuing these kittens. The health and well being of every kitty is the top priority. Amazing group and gorgeous kitties!
Save A Kitty is the best animal rescue group I have ever known. These gals put everything they have into saving the lives of these sweet innocent beings and go above and beyond 99.9% that of other rescue groups who have much greater resources and more staff. I called and emailed multiple other animal rescue groups for help and advice and heard nothing back. However, Save A Kitty answered their phones and helped me tremendously. These gals are amazing and what they do with no paid staff is heartwarming. It would be a godsend if someone or a philanthropic organization would give them a very generous donation so they could save even more lives as 100% of all the money they receive goes directly towards caring for their animals.
What a wonderful organization. The people here really care about the animals and finding them great homes. They take great care of the animals and get them the best medical care when needed. Truly exceptional !!
A great charity and great people. They really care about animals and do their very best to care for and find good homes for them.
Save A Kitty continues to be a proactive grassroots organization. We have taken in many cats and kittens over the past year and continue to be a significant resource to our community with our Community Empowerment Program by helping individuals who have chosen to help homeless cats/kittens and providing them with assistance in spaying/neutering, trapping, and finding loving forever homes.
As our organization continues to grow, we are contacted by more and more people for help everyday. Obviously, as an all-volunteer grassroots organization, funding is imperative to us in order to continue the work that we do, and that seems to be our biggest challenge.
Save A Kitty is a very special grassroots rescue. Our kitties are housed in foster homes in cage-free environments until we can find their perfect forever homes. We also will always take back a kitty, for whatever reason (even many years later) as we have done on many occasions.
As a Board Member of Save A Kitty, I know first-hand the impact we have on not only the community but the lives of the animals we touch. While we cannot take in every animal we hear about, we do try to help individuals with our Community Empowerment Program, especially those individuals who are willing to help and do not wish to simply "wash their hands" of the whole situation. We will always be there to give advice and guidance to caring individuals and try to educate the community on TNR as well as other important issues on ending the needless suffering of animals. When financially feasible, we will also donate food, supplies, and assist with veterinary costs.
While Save A Kitty is a cat rescue, we love all animals, and in fact over the last few months, we have rescued 5 dogs that were dumped near Debbie Eskow's ranch in the Mojave Desert. We have no paid staff and, in fact, Debbie and her husband, have had to supplement Save A Kitty with their own limited funds.
This is a great organization. I have acquired 3 feral kittens that I have found at work. I am working with them to get them adopted. They have given great advise to help me foster these kittens which I have never done before. They are very positive & encouraging to do what is best for the animal. Wish there were more people like them.
As CEO and founder of Save A Kitty I would like to thank all the amazing people that step up and give tirelessly
to help innocent animals. Although we are a small group I know we are respected in our community for the work that we do. We strive to take every phone call and even if we can't directly help and take in kittens we do what we can in terms of referrals and other areas of support. I am seeing more individuals willing to foster kittens knowing that with our help we will get them adopted. With our help individuals are also keeping their pets at home instead of relinquishing them to a shelter. Whether it be a donation of food or support with behavioral issues we have helped many pets stay in there homes. This in addition to our TNR efforts and foster to adoption program makes me very proud.
As CEO and Founder of Save A Kitty my work is never ending. We are a small grass roots organization and are extremely hands on in our approach to our rescue efforts. Everyday there are calls for help with abandoned cats or tiny motherless kittens, it is emotionally draining and heartbreaking. We have taken in many litters of kittens this year and assisted hundreds of callers. We have inspired many individuals to foster the kittens they have found, knowing they have the support of a non profit rescue at their side encourages these individuals to make the decision to help knowing that the ultimate responsibility for these kittens is on us the rescue, this approach seems to be working very well and has enabled us to save more lives. Save A Kitty continues to grow and has a wonderful reputation. I am grateful to my wonderful board and dedicated volunteers.
Save A Kitty Inc. is by far the utmost respectable, humane, dedicated, loving grassroots nonprofit animal rescue in Southern California. They go above and beyond endlessly and tirelessly to rescue, help, adopt, heal, advocate and comfort all ages and health issues. They are 100% whole heartedly committed to saving animals lives and giving/finding them a forever loving safe home. The care and deep love they have for animals is a true and pure grace. I am truly honored to witness and have experience rescuing animals from them. They are gentle and in tune with the feelings of the animals. I am in awe at the deep compassion they express to each and every rescue they save. The work they do moved me in such a way that I asked to join the rescue. I feel proud, blessed and deeply honored to be a part of such an admirable and honest rescue. Keep up the great work! You all truly make an amazing and much needed difference in the world! God Bless.
Save a Kitty is awesome! Debbie is an amazing caring woman. Thank you for all your help and support. What a wonderful organization!
Thank you Save A Kitty for your very hard work and dedication!
I worked with Save a Kitty 2 years ago when a feral cat had 2 kittens in my front yard. I brought her in and raised the kittens. They were very helpful about problems with raising the kittens and finding good homes. They would show the kittens every weekend and I am very impressed with their dedication and compassion. It is obvious that this is their life and they work very hard to provide for all cats in their care or who need help. I have kept in touch since my "momma kitty" episode and am always thrilled to see them. If you are in the market for a cat, get one from them- they know their animals and they are all great, healthy, well socialized kitties. PS- I kept Momma and the 2 kittens found awesome homes accross the street from each other!
Save a Kitty is a wonderful organization with a lot of heart and true passion to make a difference. Not only are cats of all shapes and sizes cared for with sincere attention, but they also take the selection process seriously and try to find the best long term homes possible for the cats. In addition, they aim to educate their client base and are always there for questions and to assist to ensure that the match is a perfect one for both cat and new parent.
The Save a Kitty event (dinner/auction) I went to last year was spectacular! The evening was very well organized and put together. The non profit gathered excellent speakers who each gave very informative presentations regarding the importance of all types of cats and the need to help protect them. There were many vendors with all kinds of items to be auctioned off which blended well with the event. My friend and I had a really great time and I would love to go back again to enjoy another event and to support such a great organization. Plus the food was delicious!
Save A Kitty is a true grassroots organization. Their efforts have saved hundreds of kitty’s lives. Not only do they help kitties, they help people resolve issues that they may have with a kitty. I know that once a kitty is rescued from this amazing organization that cat or kitten will never again be homeless or end up in a shelter. Unlike many other groups Save A Kitty always takes back a kitty that was adopted if the family can no longer keep the kitty, even if that situation arises years later. What a dedicated and passionate group of people these folks are at Save A Kitty.
I thoroughly recommend anyone who wants to adopt a cat to go through Save A Kitty. In my point of view they are more caring about their work than other rescue groups.
Full Marks to Save A Kitty….a truly dedicated group of people.
I adopted my kitten from Save A Kitty. She was feral, but had been so well cared for and rehabilitated by the people at Save A Kitty that I became the proud owner of a darling little black and white kitten who is docile, sweet and loving. Thank you Save A Kitty for bringing this joy into my life.
Save A Kitty helped when no one else would. They took the time and pooled the resources to take in a cat I was trying to save from being put down by it's owner. They went the extra mile to get the kitty placed in a great home, and are so thorough about making sure it's the right home, not just any home.
I was so impressed I volunteered to help Save A Kitty, and have been with them since. Debbie and Sue truly care, and it shows in everything they do.
Debbie & Sue from Save A Kitty are so devoted to the saving and helping cats at any age and stage of theirs lives. I love working with this organization because I see first-hand the true effort it takes to keep Save A Kitty going. A lot of personal resources are used, not just relying on the donations and other help. Whatever is needed they find a way to have it taken care of...whether it be medical care of a sick cat, spaying and neutering, food & general care....and just as important is LOVE and devotion to saving lives!
I love volunteering with Save A Kitty! They are very knowledgeable about cats and are eager to share their wealth of knowledge. They genuinely care about the welfare of the cats and make sure that the cats are placed in loving and caring homes. I would highly recommend them!!
Late summer of 2011 I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting Debbie and Sue at a cat adoption. They are very thorough and conscientious about the screening process for receiving one of their kittens. What resonated with me most about Debbie when she came to my house, was her devotion and zeal toward their cause of rescuing felines off the streets. We were blessed to receive a precious girl kitty who has been the perfect addition to our family.
This summer I had the privilege of working with Save A Kitty on a fund raiser. Again, Debbie and Sue stepped up made a difference that evening by doing what they always do, advocate for the kittens and cats in need of care, medical attention and shelter. This is truly a special organization run by two extraordinary women.
Save a Kitty, Inc., is a wonderful organization ran by incredibly dedicated individuals who give their time, money, and, most of all, their hearts, to their many cats in need of adoption and to the big cats in the world that need our attention. They work so hard, and such long days to make sure their cats are happy, healthy and placed into the best of homes. I met these amazing women by chance and was touched by their willingness to help me out with taking care of and finding loving homes for the litter my mother had been fostering. I definitely recommend adopting from Save a Kitty, Inc.!
We adopted 3 cats over the years from Save a Kitty and couldn't be happier with them. Wish we could get more kitties off the streets and into our home ;-)
Save a kitty has been saving lifes for years and I couldn't be happier to be part of such a caring and loving organization that will go above ans beyond for their cats in order to find them the perfect forever home.
I am a manager at a pet store that save a kitty is an approved non profit rescue group.
Save a kitty is an amazing organization. The members are extremely passionate about the cats and kittens and do everything they can to save each cat they come across.
Not only do they do everything they can to help customers at my store with kittens that need homes, but they also go out of their way to save cats on the streets.
I know I can call Debbie if I need help with something. One day I found a kitten, she jumped right into my arms and I had to help her. I called Debbie and she found someone who could take it that night. Now she is safe and ready for a home.
I am very thankful for what this organization does. I am lucky to have met these people.
I have had the pleasure of being the recipient of two adorable kittens that were rescued by Save a Kitty. The care and love that was given to them was quite apparent by there friendly and social personalities. We couldn't be happier and thank them immensely for saving our two babies.
Save a Kitty is a great organization. When no one else will help they are always there. They have helped me in several situations with both abondened and feral cats and are always available with valuable information and insight. Although they already have much to keep them busy they still go out of their way to help animals in need that no one else cares about
Let me be clear that I was a client served who was so impressed by Save A Kitty that I decided to volunteer for this amazing organization. They helped me with a kitty who needed saving and found him an amazing home! There are no words to describe how grateful I am to Debbie and Sue, they are two of the most caring and dedicated people I have ever met. I am proud to volunteer for Save A Kitty, and can vouch for the love, care and attention that the kitties receive from this organization.
Although personally I'm physically limited, I know the dollars I give to Save A Kitty are working ever-so hard 24/7. I've never met such fine people who share my boundless love for our four-footed friends. They're changing the world for the better--one little fur-kid at a time.
Save a Kitty is comprised of the most dedicated and loving people I know. I'm honored to play a small part in their huge work via donation. I sleep better knowing that oftentimes while I'm at rest, they're out in the field doing everything in their power to help our beloved fur-kids, the victims of uncaring individuals. Thank you SO much Save a Kitty!
Sue and Debby at Save A Kitty are angels on earth.
I adopted my 6 year old cat Walrus Gumboot from Save A Kitty last year. Originally I was supposed to just foster, but then as soon as Sue brought him to my home I knew he would never be leaving. Sue and Debby are interested in finding excellent homes for all of the kittens and cats they save. They go above and beyond. It has taken Walrus a long time to settle in (he was 5 when I got him and declawed and I don't know what trauma he had been through). Sue has been there for me with excellent support and advice every time I've needed it. She has also at times offered to take Walrus back (when things were challenging), she never would abandon him. Thanks to Sues support and great cat knowledge, Walrus is now very happy and so is our home.
Sue and Debby have Save A Kitty in order to save lives, and for no other reason. They do all that they can constantly going above and beyond to make this world a better place. I am sooo very thankful for them. They are truly the best!
I'm a lifelong animal lover and have been personally saving animals all my life. I've recently encountered a situation where I encountered stray cats in an alley that isn't close to where I live, and I don't own a car, so I've been going over there at least 3 times a week , renting a car, and to feed them but have had zero luck in finding help from numerous rescues I've reached out to and have been appalled at their lack of help in any way at all. Then someone put me in touch with Save A Kitty and they have supported my efforts, have kept constant contact and have even come to meet me where the cats are and brought traps. But I needed physical help with the trapping and Sue recognized my frustration and is coming to start the trapping/spay/neuter process this upcoming Sunday, despite her incredibly busy schedule. I'm so happy to begin this process and save these lives as I've watched many lose their lives living off this alleyway and more will do so as they will be more litters coming again. I support them and their compassion wholeheartedly...just a wonderful and helpful organization. This has been an emotional journey and they are the only ones who've remotely showed up to make me feel supported and not to feel alone in this life saving effort. Thank you Save A Kitty...don't know what I would do without you, and the cats thank you too!!!! Best, alice murrell
I have had the pleasure of adopting 3 cats from SAVE A KITTY. They take excellent care with their rescued animals to be sure they receive the best medical attention as well as nurturing and love. They make sure that every animal they adopt out goes to a loving home that will meets an appropriate criteria for a healthy home environment. This factor alone stood out to me because it made me realize that this group was not just finding homes for these animals, they were finding families that would cherish them and give them the best care possible. I will continue to help them in any way that I can because I believe in the work that they do to rescue cats from unfortunate situations. They work tirelessly to help as many cats as possible. I admire their efforts and am blessed to have met them for without them I would not have the 3 beautiful cats that have now become a part of my family. I support SAVE A KITTY in bringing more love and life to both the cats they save as well as the people who are lucky enough to adopt them.
This is a wonderful group that rescues and takes excellent care of all the cats that come thru their organization. All cats are up to date on shots and get fixed while they are at Save A Kitty. The volunteers work very hard at what they do and their job is never ending. I would like to see them expand into a bigger non profit and reach out to as many people as possible so that they can build bigger and better sanctuaries for these animals and find loving homes for the rescues.
Save A Kitty came to my rescue when no other cat rescue would even as much as return my calls or e-mails. Not only did they help me place several feral kittens that I found into wonderful homes, but they also assisted me in TNR with the mommy cat. They are reliable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping homeless cats and kittens.
Coming back from a trip i found 12 new kittens in my backyard (two litters). Desparate to get them adopted and out of the animal shelter where their survival chances were minimal, i contacted over half a dozen rescue groups in my local area. SaveAKitty was the ONLY group that responded and provided me with practical help. When the kittens were old enough, SaveAKitty helped me get kittens and feral momma cats to the vet for shots and spaying/neutering. Most importantly, SaveAKitty provided many opportunities to show the kittens for adoption. Because of their ongoing support and help, i have been able to get 7 out of 12 kittens adopted so far. I VERY HIGHLY commend and recommend SaveAKitty for their caring, dedication and support to the people and cat community.
I don't know what else to say other than Save a Kitty is everything that any animal advocacy group should be! My cat ( now named Walrus Gumboot) was pulled from a kill shelter by Save a Kitty. He had an awful eye infection, but his photo and his story were posted on facebook. Save a Kitty arranged for him to be fostered for 2 weeks with an angel volunteer who gave him his eye drops and healed him. Sue agreed to let me meet him at the fosters home just to make sure it was a match, it was! Save a Kitty generously brought Walrus to my apartment made sure it was kitty proofed and friendly, and gave me a carrier a bed a bunch of toys a litter box and lots of food to start us off on the right foot! I was told if for any reason it didn't work with me and Walrus Save a Kitty would take him back and care for him until they could find him a forever home. Save a kitty has never asked me for a dime! They are truly just interested in rescuing and taking care of the kittens and cats. Sue is always available for me to call or write when I have any first time cat mom questions. She is super knowledgeable and caring and wonderful!!! Save A Kitty is the real deal!!
Throughout my life, I've been privileged to know some dedicated, hard workers who love and help fur-kids; however, I've never before come into contact with an organization whose volunteers are as seemingly tireless and as deeply dedicated as those at Save A Kitty Inc. Those dear people are up to their eyebrows in all aspects of feline welfare--encompassing everything from legislative issues to (more often) physically slogging through muck and mire in the rescue process.
The volunteers at Save A Kitty Inc whittle away at the despicable mountain of cruelty, abuse, and neglect one kitten or cat at a time. They deserve all of the thanks and support we can muster.
