I have personally seen the difference that Sarges Community Base Inc. and it's staff has made in the youth that enter into the program. They come into the program misguided, unstructured, and unappreciative of life. The program not only through physical activity but through mental activity as well, such as motivational speeches, parables, and role playing to act out situations and to see different view points. Youth exiting the program have the opportunity to come back and make a difference in other youths lives and be a living witness as to the progression that is possible. They exit the program with an entirely different mindset and a well rounded outlook on life.

Sarge's Comuunity Base is led by a gentleman, Keith Gibbs, who is personally 'sold out' to the vision of intervening in the lives of troubled youth with truth and discipline. He has never met an "impossible" situation and his dedication becomes apparent to the young people and families to whom the program ministers. Lives are changed for the better and Keith has spread his vision to the board and to those who enthusiastically support SCB because it works!

The United States stands alone in the world as the only country that sentences youth to prison for life without the possibility of parole. In the Unites States every year, roughly 200,000 youth under the age of 18 are tried in adult courts. Youth convicted in the adult system receive little or no rehabilitative programming. States spend about three times as much money per prisoner as per public school pupil. Unless we focus our efforts on early intervention and prevention, rather than punishment, we are robbing thousands of youth each year of their futures and our country of vital human resources.
Sarges Community Base, Inc. has been a prominent entity in helping local at-risk youth and juvenile offenders enrich their lives through the Commit II Achieve Boot Camp. This program offers its participants a comprehensive curriculum which includes mentoring, discipline drills, physical training and conditioning, anger management, bullying, self development, life skills, gang prevention and intervention, self- esteem builder, leadership training, and an academic component facilitated by credentialed teachers.
