Mission: SCEOC is a not for profit organization whose mission is to empower low-income individuals with the skills, training, knowledge, advocacy and opportunities to help themselves become economically self-sufficient. Goals for 2004-2006 include:· Identify and respond to unmet basic needs of low-income people in the communities throughout Saratoga County.· Assure that the basic needs of low-income people are provided for through the delivery of EOC core services, appropriate referrals to other agencies/organizations and advocacy at the county/city level.· Maintain a healthy, viable organization by ensuring effective management, leadership, staff diversity and training, and communication among various constituencies· Strengthen our capacity to respond to the needs of low-income people by building relationships with other agencies/organizations serving our target population, promoting the visibility of our target population and the services we provide to them, and strengthening our capacity to respond to the needs of low-income people by augmenting our resources.
Programs: Weatherization program provides eligible low income households with installation of weatherization materials and other weatherization services.
the women, infants and children program subsidizes certain food products and provides nutrition education for eligible recipients.
headstart program provides comprehensive health, educational, nutritional, social and other developemental services primarily to economically disadvantaged preschool children,infants and toddlers so that the children will attain school readiness.
community services block grants help support emergency services, individual and family development, and general fundraising.
