Causes: Arts & Culture, Historical Societies & Historic Preservation
Mission: We are dedicated to promoting widespread understanding and appreciation of the cultural, social, economic and environmental benefits of historic preservation.
Target demographics: residents, visitors, homeowners, realtors students and researchers.
Direct beneficiaries per year: thousands of visitors at our Preservation Resource Center, youth from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, and hundreds of guests on our tours.
Geographic areas served: Santa Monica and Los Angeles
Programs: + Award-winning Preservation Resource Center provides user-friendly historic resources for the community. + Special annual tours feature architecture, history, culture and preservation + Weekly tours educate guests about Downtown Santa Monica and the Annenberg Beach House + Advocacy to save, protect and landmark historic buildings, designate historic neighborhoods, encourage adaptive reuse, expand signage for education, require earlier demolition reviews.
