I have been involved with Santa for the Very Poor, (SVP) since 2004. I have attended the toy packing event with friends and neighbors and have met some of the most generous and kind people I know.
This charity takes NO administrative fees and everything is donated or paid for by the directors, so your dollars all go to the very poor.
I highly endorse and recommend this group for all the hard work they do in the greater Chicago area.

Causes: Gift Distribution, Human Services
Mission: Each year since 1956 around the holiday season, we work with over a dozen local charitable organizations (churches, food pantries, etc) to provide food, warm clothing, small gifts an a little hope to those of our neighbors who would otherwise have very little.
Results: We successfully provide groceries, warm clothing and small gifts to almost 4,000 people in 850 families each year since 1956.

Direct beneficiaries per year: almost 4,000 of Chicvago's neediest in 850 families.
Geographic areas served: Chicago
Programs: a holiday program to provide each family 2 bags of groceries (and a card to purchase more) plus warm clothing and a small gift tailored to each member of each family.
