Sankofa Support Services began in 2010 when it was first known as Goodwill Support Services. In 2014, it became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under its current name. Sankofa is a minority-led, all-volunteer organization committed to alleviating the causes of family poverty and to providing basic needs for low- income families of Lowell. George Tuffour with John Mensah founded Sankofa Support Services with a passion to help the people of Lowell and fom a cultural upbringing. In the past ten years, Sankofa’s programs and services addressed children’s physical, social, and medical needs throughout Lowell’s low-income neighborhoods. We established a Diaper Program with an understanding that the sanitation and well-being of children is just as important as food and shelter. Through collaboration with other local nonprofit organizations in Lowell, Sankofa has established a teen support program. And, it has provided free meals by teaming up with homeless shelters in the Lowell area. You can help by donating.
