Think before contributing your money to this organization or partnering with them. What you see on the outside or when you first start to scratch the surface is far different from what kind of detrimental impact this organization actually has on residents in the Tenderloin and the people they staff in the name of God. Myself and others previously donated money to SFCI's school branch and were disgusted when we heard of the ways people were being treated in this nonprofit. The kids are being given a disservice- none of the teachers from the 2021-2022 school year came back to teach. The pastors can be given a housing allowance and buy espresso machines and nice speakers but won't buy masks for their students and they charge money for their BBQ outreaches to the residents because they're against "welfare mentality." The organization sends out sob stories about residents that are often exaggerated and untrue to garner sympathy for your money but the pastor and his family all make six figures. They don't need your money.
My heart really goes out to the people at City Impact. I've never met a more hard-working staff in my life; these people burn the midnight oil and probably do much more while no one is looking. Spend one day with any department and get to know some of the people that have been here for a while and you can see why this is a special place. They host an incredible amount of volunteers, but it pains me that this place doesn't have more support as the people who are here day-in and day-out are giving it all they got.
This work is amazing. It goes out of its way to serve the people in the Tenderloin. No one sits and just talk about the Love of Jesus. They give and serve and love by giving and serving and loving each person daily.
God is Love. God is all about finding that one person. City Impact is doing that everyday.
I have seen a lot of different churches and non-profits in my time, but I haven't ever experienced one as authentic, transparent, and on the ground as San Francisco City Impact. If you look at their total expenses and then look at all that they are doing, it is amazing. They have 120 kids in their school from the community who pay little to nothing to go there, they feed the homeless every morning and afternoon throughout the week at their rescue mission, they mobilize hundreds of volunteers every week to visit lonely people in the community and deliver food, they have a free health clinic for the homeless and poor of SF that they fully fund, and many more things. Check out the website: www.sfcityimpact.com and see all that they are doing for the budget that they have. You can't argue with the facts. Not sure why there are bad reviews on here. I don't think those people really understand what is happening.

I have been volunteering at SF City Impact for over 12 years now. This organization is down in the trenches doing the work and really love the residents of the Tenderloin. I am amazed at what they have done with such little finances. If you are looking for a place that is really helping out people this is the place.

This Organization has continuously reached out to the people of the Tenderloin. No organization is perfect and many people can find flaws in everything. Im not disillusioned in thinking that they are perfect. But, oh boy, they are there everyday reaching out to those in need. Caring for many. I grew up in poverty and there were many people that come to my school, or area hoping to change the world, they get disillusioned and leave quickly. These people have been there for 30 years. They have given their lives and the new leadership has helped it to grow so much. Im so glad they are there.

i have helped out at City Impact during the holidays for the last 10 years and I just love it! They are focused on the people of the Tenderloin like no other non-profit, and they give out meals, toys, and love every Thanksgiving and Christmas. There's just something about giving back during the holidays that makes it so much more fulfilling, and City Impact makes it easy to get plugged in, serve for a few hours, and feel like I've made a difference.

In simple terms without getting detailed; just do your own digging into this organization and find out for yourself. There's a reason why Francis Chan is no longer affiliated with them.

I recently came into some money and felt a strong desire to contribute to a worthy cause in my community. City Impact is well known throughout SF so I reviewed their financial statements This may seem boring to most, but I'm a Finance professional so it only made sense to do so. In any event, a quick review of this firm's Form 990 yielded some shocking information. The Founder, Director, and CFO each earn nearly $100K a year, which has been classified under 'Program' costs rather than 'General & Admin' given that the IRS does not require any sort of classification. What's worse is that they are all related!! I mean, seriously?
