Mission: The San Diego Diplomacy Council, founded in 1979, is a membership organization which promotes global understanding through person-to-person professional, cultural and educational exchange with distinguished international visitors. SDDC welcomes foreign visitors who in turn meet with their professional U.S. peers and often experience home hospitality. CDCSD's goal is to continue this one-on-one personal diplomacy.

SDDC works closely with the U.S. Department of State on the International Visitor Leadership Program in designing professional customized programs for international visitors. More than 600 distinguished international visitors come to San Diego on this program every year. SDDC also works with other organizations and foreign governments.

San Diego Diplomacy Council works diligently to connect emerging leaders from around the globe with the San Diego community. Their website explains their work well, but what it can't fully communicate is what a fantastic and well run organization this is. The people who work at SDDC are all very committed to the mission of the organization, and hold themselves to a high level of integrity in their work. They make good use of the funds that they receive, and are a great organization to volunteer for. They have a strong structure in place to ensure a positive and mutually beneficial volunteer experience.
