Mission: Collect, preserve and display documents, photographs and artifacts relevant to Chinese and Chinese American history and culture and to provide ongoing educational programs to share this rich cultural heritage with our communities.
Programs: Preservation of the history and heritage of chinese-americans in san diego and the education of people in chinese-american history. Special exhibits & lectures occur in addition to permanent exhibits.
I love the SDCHM! It’s located in San Diego’s Chinatown and there are always docents or staff members who are knowledgeable and welcoming. They have special exhibits in the building across the street that are quite interesting as well as historic walking tours of the area. It keeps the Chinese experience in San Diego alive!
Proud to support an organization that proliferates Chinese-American history and culture to the community of San Diego! They hold events for children year-round which make an impact on younger generations. Glad San Diego has this icon to amplify the stories of Chinese people in San Diego and beyond.
The SD Chinese Historical Society and Museum has been a parter of the San Diego Asian Business Association for many years. They frequently contribute to our annual fundraiser and have partnered with the organization for events throughout the years.
