Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To foster the creativity, self-esteem, and discipline, through dance, while encouraging participants toward joy in their art. To help people reach their full potential in dance. To reduce barriers to invlovement in the art of dance. To serve our area by providing training and productions of the highest possible quality for the health and artistic welfare of the community.
Programs: The san angelo civic ballet consists of the academy, the community school, and performance season. The academy offers classes for ages 17 months+ that include creative movement, pre-ballet, and jazz and hip hop classes. Additionally, for ages 6+ the academy offers ballet and tap, with a structured classical syllabus beginning at the creative movement level and progressing through the pre-professional level. The community school offers drop in classes for adults and teens who are looking for fitness and recreational dance instruction. The school includes a pilate's studio that is furnished with state of the art equipment, offers private, semi-private and group classes. Performance season consists of five regular season productions that offer students the opportunity to train through performance while providing high quality artistic entertainment for our community and the surrounding area. During 2016 the san angelo civic ballet benefited over 200 individuals.
