We achieve our mission through the following programs: •Sam's Hope Pet Food Assistance Program •Sam's Hope Veterinary Care Assistance Program •Sam's Hope Meals for the Pets of the Homebound & Elderly Program *Approximately 50% of pets surrendered to shelters never find a new home, and sadly, are euthanized

Marianne has been a blessing to my cat, Oliver, and I. Oliver just turned one a month ago, but I noticed a strange lump in his mouth. After several different vet visits, Oliver was diagnosed with an odonotogenic tumor. This tumor arises from the formation of the teeth, and though it is considered benign, it is locally invasive. When we received his diagnosis I was told that without surgery the tumor will continue to grow and ultimately prevent him from opening his mouth or eating. The vet gave him a few months to live without the surgery. Being a college student and coming from a low-income family, I immediately panicked at the thought that my cat's life was on the line due to me not being able to afford a surgery. He is such a sweetheart and deserves to live a long, healthy life. I reached out to Marianne at Sam's Hope and she was extremely kind and helpful. She was in touch with me almost everyday with new resources and ideas to help Oliver. Sam's Hope helped to make it possible for me to schedule Oliver's surgery that will save his life. I am forever grateful to Marianne and Sam's Hope.

Being a Senior on a fixed income makes it difficult to afford care for my companion of 14 years, my kitty Cleo. Veterinary costs are among the highest expenses a pet owner must deal with. Cleo was in need of a vet visit and Marianne, the founder of Sams Hope, stepped in to provide affordable care in the form of a Sams Hope Veterinary Care Assistance grant. The vet determined Cleo's kidneys were not working properly and recommended a special diet. The food is expensive. Sams Hope provided the first case and my family agreed to pay for the rest. Sams Hope also provides an abundant supply of cat litter, which as every cat owner knows, is necessary to assure a happy home.

Sam's Hope is a wonderful organization that helps those who have trouble helping themselves. It provides assistance for ill, disabled and unemployed pet owners, as well as poor seniors who cannot afford to feed their animals. These are the vulnerable people in our community. And, it has a vet care program that again helps people of little or not means get veterinary for their pets. Sam's Hope helps people and their pets stay together so it basically saves many lives-the people and their life's blood-their dogs and cats.

Hello everyone, let me start by saying Sams Hope is a "Blessing" and Marianne is an "Angel".My precious baby Cookie had eaten a rag and a toy. It all tangled up together and she had a blockage. Of course I didn't know at the time. She was throwing up for at least 12 hours. I took her to the Vet first thing in the morning. He took an xray gave her some medicine to keep her from being nauseous and said if she keeps throwing up take her to the emergency room or bring her back in the morning to see if whats in her intestines moves. He had no empathy. He didn't tell me she would die without treatment. I knew one more day she would be gone. She was throwing up blood and yet he still sent us out of his office.

When we got home i started searching the internet. Im on a fixed income and was desperate thats when i came across Sams Hope I read the application and fit the criteria. Marianne called me right away. She set up the appointment for first thing in the morning she was just as upset as me. The xrays were emailed before we arrived and the Dr was ready to start. There was a rag 18 inches long and pieces of a plastic toy tangled in her intestines. Doc had to cut her bowel in 3 places to get it out and her abdomen was punctured. She had staples and stitches She made a speedy recovery and is doing fine. Doc did her follow up to make sure everything was fine. Marianne checks on us periodically. Im so grateful for Sams Hope without their help Cookie would not have made it .

After I retired, I was looking for something to keep me busy. I found Sam's Hope and have been volunteering there ever since. I have taken on a few "projects" to help the director,
Marianne. She is a caring, hard working, passionate about animals woman and I'm proud to help her in any capacity. If you are looking for something to do that is very rewarding, consider volunteering at Sam's Hope. It is extremely rewarding.

Greetings, just and had to write about an amazing organization I've had the pleasure of running into last year. Living on a fixed income and homebound for much of last year, I had the opportunity to make the acquaintance of a couple of wonderful big hearted people, Marianne, and Pat of Sam's hope.
Thanks to Pat who volunteered time and dropped off food supplies for both my cat and my 10-year-old puppy :-) on a regular basis was a godsend
Additionally, KUDOS ! To Marianne the linchpin of this great organization. She lined me up with veterinarian care for Lola my Pekingese/Pomeranian. Had it not been for her bringing in Dr.Kreiker, Lola may have been in for some serious problems. It seems that through the doctor's thorough examination it was discovered Lola had a serious kidney problem. Luckily this condition was caught very early on and can be treated through proper diet. However if not for Sam's hope, I would not of recognized this condition until it became something extremely serious. Hopefully she'll have the opportunity now to be around for a lot longer.
Maybe I'm getting a little cynical in my old age, but I am really amazed to find people who care as much as the people I've met from Sam's hope
