As a volunteer for two years I had the opportunity to see first hand the impact the organization has had on the residents. The programs available to the residents are targeted at restoring their self-esteem, equipping them for re-entry into the community as self sustaining contributors. While a resident expectations are clearly articulated, contributions of time to the functioning of the facility are expected, and consequences are enforced for violations of rules. GED educational tutoring is available for those individuals that lack a high school education, but are beyond the age to attend high school. A transitional living facility is available to graduates to help them grow into paying market level living expenses. A new facility is planned to allow for the caring of additional residents in the future as it saddens us to turn away persons in need today. I personally serve multiple volunteer organizations and this organization by far is best organized and maximizes the impact on their target population.

I have been volunteering at the Samaritan Inn for almost a year now. And I love it! Everyone there is so nice and amazing and really make you feel like your time is important to them. Volunteering there has been really good because I feel as if I am making a difference in people's lives!
