This amazing group helps my residents fight hunger each week by bringing us food that they otherwise would not have. Things like meat that is just too expensive for them to purchase, produce, salads. Prepared foods for those who don't have the energy to cook.

Claudia does not stop, she helps as many people as she can. Seniors, Children, Families and the homeless. If you are fortunate enough to meet this incredible lady, you will understand her goodness. Keep her in your prayers.

There was a time in my life when Charity meant " who do I make the check out to?" Then, that changed. I went from the top of the heap to the bottom and found myself homeless and on the streets. Over the next 5 years, I struggled to recover, going from a group home to finally finding a small apartment of my own in an affordable housing complex. Barely able to pay my rent and utilities, food was a luxury that often was not available to me. During the second month of living in the complex, I noticed a flyer posted in the lobby. In bold letters I saw the phrase "Free Food". I didn't read the rest, I ran to the building managers office to find out more about this possible gift from God. The gift, I was told, was a woman by the name of Claudia Wheeler and an organization known as The Salt Foundation. As I've come to learn over the past year, the woman ,Claudia Is the Organization. She is tireless. A true friend and advocate for those in need. The building I live in is comprised of low income individuals, aged 62 and over. For most of them, food is a luxury and given the rapid increase in the price of food, a luxury many of them would have to skip. On a weekly basis, Claudia Wheeler and The Salt Foundation help us gain access to food and basic supplies. She not only helps us, but also many other groups throughout Central Jersey. I have had the privilege to get to know Claudia and have been able to help her deliver food to my building and it's residents. She not only provides us with this assistance, but she also works a full time job as a elementary school in Trenton, NJ. She is truly a gift to all who know her and love her and I am truly grateful for the friend she has become.

Claudia is so appreciated that we thanked her, gave her a small token of appreciation, card and a round of applause! We know she cares about us and it has touched our hearts.

Through the Salt Foundation and Claudia, our 104 unit senior building receives an assortment of high quality food from Weigmans grocery store.

Following COVID 19 we kept to ourselves. Because of Claudia’s kindness we now have residents who weekly socialize in the lobby as the wait for the food to be set out. That makes my heart happy. Through the Salt Foundation and Claudia we are building a sense of community. So, not only do you feed us but, help us grow community.

Claudia is the nicest person ever, comes almost twice a week to my complex and brings all sorts of things for all people in need. I am so glsd to have met such a wonderful woman who cares so much about others.

The Salt Foundation Inc Jersey City is a great blessing to the community of Jersey City I personally know some of the members and volunteers there always try their very best to help every one that goes there for the pantry food and most of all they are always very very helpful especially to the seniors and always pleasant and I never heard any one speak loud always very soft spoken to the community who goes there thank you god bless all of you for the hard work

I've been volunteering with SALT since January and sharing the loading and food rescuing with Claudia! SHE IS A Bonafide ROCK STAR!

As a volunteer, I have been in awe of how Founder, Claudia Wheeler’s passion and intent to acquire a variety and healthy food donations reach so many New Jersey communities in need! Her galvanizing personality draws many dedicated volunteers who bring her vision to fruition. She is a humble leader carrying out a mission of love.

We were blessed with the honor of shadowing Salt Foundations Founder, Claudia Wheeler for a week to fully grasp what it is she truly does… I was in complete shock as to how much healthy food would go to waste if her organization did not fill the gap within this particular sector of the market.

We look forward in continuing to work together in collaboration with Salt Foundation and Claudia to provide healthy food consumption to all.

SALT is really on the ground level impacting people’s lives (and also being impacted in the process). The sheer amount of food SALT rescues each week and then redistributes to various places (community fridges, community distros, other non-profits) is both truly astounding and truly inspiring. They are 10,000% about the people and about the communities they serve in a way that is quite hard to find in our often individualistic and atomized society. I wish there were more groups like SALT and maybe one day, because of their leadership, there will be.

The SALT Foundation, spearheaded by Mrs Claudia Wheeler, is a fantastic organization that directly engages the community by providing food, bikes, clothing, plants, pet utilities, through means of donation partnerships. They have been responsible for providing donations to events and fueled many programs by other organizations. Many different organizations have built various connections through means of SALT initiatives such as grocery distributions, store pick ups and community fridge distributions. I am thankful for all that SALT does for the community and I will continue to contribute and work with this organization to aid the necessary goal of helping people.

Thank you so much for your donations everything else since partnering we have been truly been able too help some many people who are truly in need and could not have been done without you guys help!! I honestly can not thank you guys enough and look forward too continuing working with you guys as TOGETHER we continue too be a helping hand too the people who need it the most!!!

I volunteered and got the chance to see smiles on people's faces when they received the food. My mom set the food out in her senior recreation room it was food spread across a very long table from one end to the other all kinds of beautiful food items and within less than an hour the table was empty. I think it is safe to say the people enjoy and appreciate what the salt foundation,Claudia and vashti and Sara are doing. Thanks to those generous donater and kind volunteers

SALT foundation has been a tremendous help to the community fridge of Greenville and surrounding, as well as seniors building within the vicinity. Providing food items , Flowers, cake's pastries, prepared meals, and other essentials to everyone in need. Hello There.
My name is Joseph , I am a Mechanical Engineer , I used to have a very good job and six figure income and good life until January 2007 , my life went upsidedown , I got a huge tumor in the back of my neck inside the spinal cord and after several surgeries I end up almost paralyzed in both legs , I can hardly plus lots of pain as a result I lost my Job and I collect social security disability which is not even enough to pay my rent , I thought about committing a suicide , it was very hard time . after paying my rent and utilities I have no money left to buy food , for the past 12 years I eat bread and potatoes , Just bread and potatoes some times chicken if it is on sale , my health condition became very bad I got anemia , I was so weak and I was very shy asking people to help me with food until my doctor told me unless I eat healthy I will sure die then I start to look for some people to help me with food , I search on line and I found The Salt Foundation which in my zip code, I went there and I met that angel lady Claudia wheeler and I told her my story , I was shy but she was too nice too helpful , she made me feel like I am talking to my younger sister with her great heart she told me to go and see her every Sunday and I did and she gave me two large bags plus very lovely pie of cake , when I went home I couldn't believe my eyes , I found lots of meat , salmon , chicken , all kind of fruit , food ready to eat , salad , vegetables , I couldn't believe my eyes since didn't see this food for the 12 years, plus fruit cakes and even flowers, roses , I felt like it was a dream but it was true , I thought she gave me this food for just one time I was even afraid to eat it , I don't want it to finish but when I saw her the following Sunday she gave me even more food special meat , salmon , fruit which I need to get healthy , to tell the truth I start to eat healthy food for the first time for 12 yes, and I start to eat I am not worried about if I will eat tomorrow or not became she make me feel safe , she make me feel I am in God's hand and the good news is my doctor said my blood is getting better and I am getting my strength back little by little . what I want the world to know that great lady Claudia Wheeler is an angel and for sure she will go to heaven , I wish her all the best and I wish for the Salt Foundation to be No 1. all over the world.

Salt Foundation is nothing short of a miracle for me and my son. Since transferring its activities in Jersey City, I have had to good luck of getting the food that my son and I need. I am retired and have had no extra income to support myself and my son. I was unfortunate to have used up available savings to support another son who became a victim of mugging in Virginia earlier in 2021, causing me to support him for his hospitalization and rehabilitation. That put an extreme strain on my limited finances and the help given free each week by Claudia Wheeler's Salt Foundation has solved an important problem for us.

I appreciate everything Claudia Wheeler and her foundation is doing for the community, and me. She’s a wonderful caring person who enjoys helping others. She is truly God’s angel. Thank you for all that you do Claudia! My refrigerator is filled with good food all because of you and your organization. May God continue to bless you as you bless his children.

SALT and it’s founder, Claudia Wheeler, are what the world needs more of: people coming together to help other people and in turn growing themselves. I have had the privilege to help share food a few times (even bringing my grandson with me once), and also donate some funds once — we need to do that again — but mostly, I am just so encouraged and inspired by simply knowing Claudia!

Salt is an invaluable resource to the community. Claudia cares about everybody and is so easy to work with.

To say that SALT, more specifically Claudia Wheeler, is dedicated, would be an understatement. She spends any free moment she has, serving the community. Additionally, it’s not just about serving, feeding, clothing and helping those less fortunate, it’s also about reducing food waste, reusing gently used items, and making people happy along the way. It is an honor for me to volunteer for her and help when I can. I look forward to SALT continuing to grow and hopefully some day soon Claudia will get that new van she so desperately needs! Jersey City, Trenton, and all of New Jersey are better places because of Claudia Wheeler.

Claudia Wheeler and the Salt Foundation Inc. are amazing resources to the community. Claudia works hard during the day as a teacher and at night she drives around collecting donations for her foundation. She believes in helping others and she has made a huge impact on a lot of people. She gave it her all during the height of the pandemic to make sure others in need would have food and other basic necessities. Claudia and her foundation continue to make an impact daily.

My experiences with SALTNJ have been truly phenomenal. Claudia has been easy to work with and never hesitates to say yes to any request involving helping others. The impact that they’ve had on our community in Greenville is massive. Our fridges are filled with food and love because of this organization and I look forward to working with them again and again.

They are the real deal. They do what they set out to do and really help the community. You wouldn't find a better organization.

I am very happy to write a brief review of my friendship and Mrs Wheeler's nonprofit. I volunteered in her third grade class at the Gregory Elementary School in Trenton, NJ. She is a hardworking, creative, innovative teacher. She goes well beyond the required tasks to help her students learn and have success.
The same commitment that she has for teaching, she has for giving people in need of food. She has been a one woman force in finding, delivering, and continuing to bring food to those in need. Through the covid-19 she did not stop. And now she persist because SALT is her belief that people need good food to be able to live. I am very happy to be her friend and provide help to her cause. Her cause that is doing God's will and she has never given up on feeding the hungry.

The SALT foundation has been proving food and other items to families and individuals prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to serve the community with healthy and nutritious meals. This is a wonderful and needed organization.
