I was online looking for a shelter to go to with my kids and I was in a bad mental state. I felt lonely like I had nobody. Everywhere I called no one got back to me. I called the St. Margaret Home, and I received a call back from Megan. I was pregnant with my 4th baby and was emotional and Megan comforted me that day and pretty much gave me hope that I was not alone and that everything was going to be ok. It was a huge help to receive diapers, wipes, and clothes while I was pregnant. I was prepared for my baby girl when she came last December. I was able to get baby items for the next year. It was a blessing this Christmas to have gifts to put under the tree for my four children. St. Margaret Home made this possible and this was something that I did not think I was able to do for my kids. I hope God blesses this facility and all the staff that helps the moms who are struggling. Megan helped me get out of bad mental state throughout my time working with her by being a great support system and by pushing me to get a job and giving me confidence back in myself.
I started visiting St Margaret’s while pregnant and they offered me support and resources up to my baby’s first birthday. I am so grateful for the time and kindness given to me by Tara and Eileen!
I really felt welcomed here! Eileen & Tara are truly amazing, kind hearted woman. They listened & understood me for me.
My experience with Castello maternity home was amazing! I am well appreciative for every and all things / food I had gotten for my daughter. I would like to recognize Tara for her great customer service and also being the sweetest to work with. I highly recommend if needed.
I have had nothing short of an amazing experience with them. Such a helpful program for mothers and their children. Extremely kind and useful.

My name is christelle, and I have been coming to Saint Margaret of castellato maternity home since I was pregnant with my first child. Honestly I can say this is the best place to come and they are very big help to me and my baby. They provide great assistance and I have already referred many people because it’s a great place. The people are very nice.
Oh where do I begin.. I came to SMOC fresh out of a domestic violence situation with my baby’s father. And I met Tara and Eileen, who both welcomed us with open arms. They offered and have given me so much help and support that I was overwhelmed with a warm heart and love! I loved being a part of your SMOC family. And will continue to stay in contact with them for the years to come! Thank you for everything guys! Landon and I love you ❤️
Very helpful in 2001 when I was single and decided to parent alone. Never felt judged or swayed by anyone on staff. I needed legal and medical information for the process of having a child.
They are so amazing they helped me before I had my baby and after. They give me diapers and whipes each vist. And they give me most of what I need or ask for. They are very helpful and reliable. And they are amazing. I worked with Tara a lot and she is amazing. Tara helped me through a lot and she worked with me and my schedule. She's an awesome person and you willl loI love working with them and as my baby gets older I will donate anything she doesn't need to give to someone in need. And they save me so much when I needed diapers each and every time. For real I been struggling with this new child and without this place I don't know what I would've been doing. Thank you so much for yall help. And I recommend anybody to use this program. Their helpful and reliable. Lols just show up to your appointments.
Love Cashmere
Tara and Eileen are both amazing they helped me out with so much when I wasn't able to afford things myself and I'm so happy that I was able to be apart of there program and receive the help I did from them
Saint Margaret of Castello Maternity Home is amazing. I am truly thankful for the help they have provided me for my baby girl. They have helped me with diapers, wipes, clothes, food, and so much more. I am a single mother, so it’s amazing to know there are wonderful places out there that can help out like this one. The team is amazing and friendly. I am so thankful for this organization. Tara is also wonderful, not just with providing help but also being there for you. Thank you so much for everything.
SMOC (specifically Tara) has been such a blessing to me and my preemie. He is aging out of the program and I am so sad! But truly SMOC has been one of the biggest supports we’ve had throughout this first year. Because of them I never had to worry about diapers or wipes or clothes. Without those worries I’ve been able to focus on helping my son reach all of his milestones and truly thrive. I am looking forward to visiting Eileen and Tara as Jet continues to grow and will be forever grateful for their services!
Eileen was so helpful through out my pregnancy starting from 28 weeks and up until my child was 12 months old! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone she is literally the best!
Absolutely great program. They helped me so much with my daughter. Aileen and Tara are excellent to work with.
LOOOVE ILEENE AND TARA ❤ been seeing them with my daughter who's 19 months and my son who is about to be 6 months amazing people, and i look forward to seeing them everytime especially my kids my daughter will run up knowing where she is and get so excited ❤
Hello everyone, I would like to thank the team of Saint Margarette Castelo, especially Mrs. Aline who helped me a lot during my pregnancy period with clothes, diapers, all the gift we need for the baby. 100% satisfactory service.
This place was my rock throughout my pregnancy. They helped me with everything I could need from emotional support to wipes and diapers. I'm super grateful for SMOC Maternity Home ❤️
I found st. Margaret’s when someone posted about formula on a Facebook group. The ladies there are incredibly kind and helpful. They assist pregnant mothers all the way until their child is a year old. They made me feel so welcomed and assisted in clothes, diapers, and formula for family. I will continue to donate supplies to them as they help so many people in the community!
I was homeless and needed a safe place to live with my baby girl. Outreach council gave me the info for Blessed Margaret where I met a phenomenal, caring, loving, sweet, generous soul named Eileen. She was so compassionate and professional. Eileen made sure I understood the program and that I had (and still have) everything I need for my daughter Deborah. Words can't describe how connected I feel to her, Tara and Monica! They're all such a blessing in our lives. Unfortunately I wasn't able to move into the home because another housing opportunity came up. We were all sad about it lol but I consider them family now! I moved an hour away and I travel to the house just to see them! I would travel across the country to visit them and get the best resources that only they provide. I thank God for them!
Aline and Tara was very great to their client. It was a pleasure to know them I will recommend people.
I feel very blessed and fortunate that Saint Margaret of Castello provides this great service to the community. I am only working part time so to have this support to help me have peace of mind that my needs will be met and I dont have to struggle to afford diapers and wipes. The care, concern, and support allow me to feel very comfortable each time I make an appointment. Theres a different assortment of items to chose from each time which guarantees that my needs will be met. Thank you for this wonderful service.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this organization. It met my son's and my everyday needs and allowed us to live worry-free lives knowing that we can depend on St. Margaret to meet our needs. Eileen was a genuine supporter of women and a superb listener. I'll be grateful always.
Helped me get through the entire first year of my babies life. I went through nursing school and had to reduce my work hours to make sure I graduated. I was filled with fear I wouldn’t be able to afford to buy supplies for my baby. All the staff at saint margaret made sure I was stocked up with supplies, helped me get a safe care seat for my baby, and helped me graduate and begin my career. I could never thank these guys enough. I referred many of my friends and family to saint Margaret’s and they have treated all of us with pure love and open arms. Thank you guys for everything!
I am so grateful for this organization beyond words can truly express. After becoming very ill during my pregnancy we had financial trouble. Without hesitation SMOC and the wonderful ladies who work there helped my family graciously. In a time of need they helped me prepare for my little one and have always been there to help. I am so very grateful to have this place along my journey through my first year of my baby’s life!
I can’t even begin to explain the tremendous impact that SMOC Maternity Home has had on me & my family’s life. When I found out I was pregnant, I was homeless, living in a recovery home with only a couple months clean. I had never wanted kids, and my situation was less than ideal to raise one, but I knew what I wanted to do. I had heard about maternity homes and I wanted to be somewhere that would have structure for my sobriety but that could guide me in the transition to becoming a mother as well. Although SMOC is maternity based, when I first talked to Eileen she was so supportive of where I was at and took a chance on me, and I am so grateful she did. I wouldn’t be where I’m at today, the woman I am, the MOTHER I am, if it weren’t for my time spent here. The house is a home, it’s a place you can feel comfortable, safe, supported, & never judged. Eileen put together the greatest team of staff, 4 mothers of different personalities but all with the same thing in common, that they genuinely care. I think one of the biggest things I liked about SMOC was there was never any pressure, they allowed you the time to figure out what your goals were and gave you the resources to make them happen. While pregnant, we had group at night and would learn about every aspect of motherhood. Nothing can prepare you for when your baby actually arrives, but I feel as though I was as prepared as I could be when the time came. I watched the house get remodeled over the time I lived there, just so we had a beautiful home to live in! I even helped make the baby tree on the wall in the living room, and I can’t wait to visit one day and see it all filled up with happy babies smiling because they have everything they need. Having a baby is meant to be a happy time in your life, anyone deserves that and they did everything in their power to give that to us. From cute baby outfits, to car seats, pack & plays, toys, christmas presents, birthday cakes, a baby pool, a lactation consultant, a nurse to bounce questions off of every month, formula, even a NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT. When we had our babies, they loved them just like we loved them. They were always there to help, but also gave you the space you needed to find your groove. The countless colic nights Mrs Monica (queen of burps) spent with me and her culinary excellence (; The patience Mrs Megan has & the reassurance she gave to me so many times that it would not be hard forever. The creativity and conversation Mrs Regina brought in, her positive energy filling the house. Mrs Eileen always coming in with a fun idea for the babies, her excitement of sharing every experience with us. All 4 of you, I love you all so much and thank you. During my time here I watched SO many other moms receive help too, even Spanish speaking they have Mrs Isabella to help and it’s just so amazing that something as beautiful as SMOC exists. You guys make such a difference. I wouldn’t have wanted to have this experience anywhere but here & thanks to SMOC I was able to lay a foundation to give my daughter the beautiful life she deserves!!!
This place helped me during my baby's first year with baby diapers, wipes, formula, and clothing. I worked with Megan and she was very friendly and cared about me and my son. Whenever I went to the home I could always talk to Megan about anything. She was a good listener. The staff truly cares about us moms and our babies. I have told other moms about this home and they go there now too.
Eileen and the crew are awesome. Always willing to go above and beyond to support us moms. Program is for babies but they always make older siblings feel included. They are always willing to lend a ear to listen and offer support and advice. Eileen would always follow up with me if we went a few weeks without convo just to make sure we were good! Amazing staff and support. Would recommend to any mom who needs a little extra help with no judgement!!!
I worked with a woman name, Eileen, who helped me with anything I needed for my son up until he was one years old. She let me come and talk to her as like a counselor she had great advice for anything I was struggling with baby or personal. they were really an amazing and helpful resource for the first year of my sons life. I would recommend them to anybody Who needs a little extra help
Eileen was such an amazing human who was so dedicated to helping me find my formula and making sure I had anything I was in need of. This is such a wonderful program that gives to the community- so very grateful for her continued support and care
I’m grateful for st. Margaret service. They help me so much with material and formula for my daughter. If it wasn’t for the help I get from them it would have been hard for me with buying diapers. I’m so happy for the wonderful team, they are caring, friendly, compassionate, helpful, always respond on time. They are there when I need their help. This program is a great program, I’m happy with the help I received.
I came to St. Margaret maternity home March of 2022 for support, guidance, and assistance with my first pregnancy. I came here 7 months pregnant with my mom not knowing what to expect but was open to any ideas and suggestions for my baby and ended up getting so much more after I met with Megan for our first appointment. Right away she made us feel very comfortable and we opened up to her with our situation and she provided emotional and mental support. Megan understood what I was going through and suggested a plan for me to go to therapy and get back on medication for my mental orientation to aid me with the transition into motherhood. I have worked with Megan for the past year and was able to get baby supplies for my son such as diapers, wipes, clothes, toys, and so much more that I would not be able to afford being a single non working parent. My son is now a year old, and I will be closed to services however, I am in a good state of mind now, and working, and planning to go back to school to further my education so I can continue to provide the financial stability for my son. I can't thank Megan enough for everything she has done for us. If it wasn't for her we wouldn't be where we are today. Megan has also introduced us to a community of supporters at a Catholic parish where we now belong and love very much!!
I am so happy to have them in our lives i honestly don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for there help even tho my child is now over age I will still be donating what my children grow out of or don’t use my way of giving back after all the help they gave us thank you so much again
Eileen is the best person and the Saint Margaret of Castello Maternity Home! She's truthfully helped me so much with my daughter. I can't thank you guys enough. Everything from diapers to wipes to formula during a formula shortage. To even helping my son find a developmental pediatrician!!! Thank you so so much Eileen for everything you have done!!! You will never know how much I truthfully appreciate you!!!
Megan was the best !! She helped me through a lot of stuff and she is an amazing listener she cares for you as if you were family, I highly recommend her ! Thank you so much for everything!
Amazing!. I was so happy with the services I recieved for my son. I was having trouble finding formula for my son, and I made a call that would change my view of humanity. I found a gleam of hope in the middle of a pandemic formula shortage. My son and I will forever be greatful for the help with necessities, and growing strong/healthy. Mother's need more places like this nonprofit where they can seek help, because being a mom is a happy but stressful job.
This place is amazing they really go way above what I ever expected. They helped me during the formula crisis get formula for my daughter which was really hard to find cuz she has GI issues and they helped me get a car seat for when she was out of the baby car seat. I wouldn't have known what to do without this place due the crisis. They truly are a blessing.
This place is AMAZING!! Megan is AWESOME!!! She is super sweet and very helpful. I was in a bad place and was due in 2 months and had not one thing for my son yet. Blessed Margaret gave me all the basics I needed for my son. Clothes, diapers, wipes, bottles...everything!!
I am so grateful that I came across a post on Facebook during the formula shortage of Saint Margaret of Castello Maternity Home. I called looking for formula for my son not thinking I would even get a call back. The next day, Eileen called me and said I can do my best with what we have and was super flexible! I have received so much help beyond just formula from them. They have helped me with healthcare resources for my son, had open ears with no judgment, and provided so much baby supplies for us. Not only me, but my other family and friends I have recently given their info to get help. They are so welcoming and ready to make friendships and help you along your journey of motherhood.
I don't even know where to begin....I can start by saying how blessed I am to have been introduced to Megan. Not only did she help me with everything I could have needed for my son, she was kind and willing to listen. SMOC has been an absolute treasure helping me through the first year of my son's life through the pandemic and formula shortages. The world is such a crazy place and it was so comforting to know that I had someplace to turn. I am eternally grateful for all she was able to offer me. Bringing a child into this crazy world is wild enough, bringing a child into this world in the midst of a pandemic makes it even wilder but fortunately I had resourced from SMOC and Megan to help tame what I could. This program is truly an asset to the entire community.
Eileen from Blessed Margaret helped me from the time I found out I was pregnant until my daughter was one year old. The only reason I no longer receive services from them is because my daughter aged out and I am no longer eligible. Otherwise I would have stayed with them forever. Eileen is one of the most caring people I have ever met. She does this work because she loves it, and the children she serves. You can tell she does it from the heart, not for a paycheck, like most of the other programs around the area. I can’t say enough good things about her and the program.
SMOC was a lifesaver during the first year of my daughters life as well as during my pregnancy. They helped me by supplying me with any essentials my daughter may have needed, including formula during the shortage. If it weren’t for them, my daughter would have went without formula on more than 1 occasion. I’m eternally grateful for the kindness and generosity they have given me this last year.
This place has help me and my Irish twins through so many trying times. The support from the staff (Eileen) is phenomenal. My life has been changed for the better.
I could not have been more grateful to have st Margaret house there for support and assistance during and after my pregnancy. I got pregnant with my third baby during the pandemic. Times were tough. I reached out to Megan and she helped and prepared me so much for this baby. When my daughter came last May I was more than prepared for her arrival. I had all the necessities to get me through. During the first year I had so much help from Megan. She checked in on me biweekly and packed diapers, wipes, formula and clothing up for my baby girl. The first year was tough during the pandemic but with this homes help made it much easier. I thank Megan from the bottom of my heart.
St Margaret of Castello's Goal is to help Mom's get the things that they need to help provide the proper care for their children. They are there to guide Mom's making transition from being pregnant to now caring for their tiny human. They did all of that and beyond. I never felt like just some pregnant Mom when dealing with the staff. They always made sure I had for myself and my newborn baby. During COVID it was a difficult time for everyone, but being pregnant was was worse. Eileen offered to drop off food and things needed when COVID was running through my house. She always made me feel like I was part of her family. She would call after each appt( I was high risk). She even offered to go with me so I was not alone. She drove and dropped off Formula, diapers, clothes, and so much more to help make sure my son had all his necessities. I appreciate all that the staff did to help me through the 1st year of my son's life. I will be forever grateful to the staff and the organization.
I came here in August when I was 15 weeks pregnant scared, confused, and felt completely alone. St. Margaret Home opened their doors to me and ever since then I gained confidence, learned how to become an awesome mother, and I 10,000 percent would recommend anyone in need who is pregnant and homeless. You get the help that you need and so much more. I stayed here during my pregnancy and now my baby is two months old and thriving. The staff here are 100% real. They are open and understanding and they are very nurturing. They teach you things that you may be uncomfortable with getting advice from someone you may know. I am now on my way back to Georgia happy and whole because of the help from Miss Megan, Miss Eileen, Miss Regina, Miss Monica and Anna. If you are in need I hope that you reach out and find your peace as I did.
Saint Margaret of Castello Maternity Home (Bensalem, PA) has been a tremendous blessing in mine and my children's lives they've helped from diapers strollers Christmas gifts clothes pretty much anything you need for baby they will try their very best to give it to you. They go above and beyond the call of duty. They've also been a wise counsel during my pregnancy and when I was dealing with postpartum depression they've been guiding Light in a dark time in my life. I could never thank of them enough for the continued blessings they have given me this past year. Please help support this organization and keep this nonprofit going because it is definitely a lighthouse in a storm. Trust me you will not be disappointed and the staff is amazing!!! Thanks again for all the love and support it's greatly appreciated.
I give this charity 5 star rating! I’ve been going here for one full year, since my son was first born, and he just turned one. They gave me all my necessities, would let me come in and talk to them about my son and anything else I wanted to talk about, I did pickups almost every week or every two weeks for diapers wipes bottles clothes bibs, just about anything I needed for my son. I also used this charity for my daughter when she was of age. I love it and I recommend them to anyone with a newborn or any baby under the age Of one. I appreciate their services and Eileen is my favorite! Highly recommended
They have helped me as a single mom living in recovery with the stuff I would have never been able to do on my own ..makes me know there are so many good hearted people in this world thank you again so much for everything
My name is Jamie and I just want to say that I am so appreciative of this organization. Megan has helped me so much with my baby boy recently when I unfortunately fell into some financial hardships. She was so kind and caring and made me feel better because as a mother the last thing we want to admit is that we need help to care for our child. I was just getting by because I have been out of work since caring for my son and COVID. Megan definitely took a whole load off of my back and offered me formula, diaper, wipes etc. and I am forever grateful for that and if only we had more kind people in this world! This organization is amazing and does great things and when I am in a position to do so I am going to pay it forward and definitely help another mother or person in need. Thank you Megan and everybody at Margaret at Costello!!❤️❤️❤️
I heard about this organization through a friend, at a time when I was scared and in need of help and support. Blessed Margaret did both.
Eileen was there for me through my pregnancy, after giving birth, and during the first year of my son's life. She always called to check up on me and the baby, and make sure we had everything we needed.
They helped with diapers, wipes, toy, clothes, literally anything that was needed, this organization helps!
I don't think I would have made it through this pregnancy or 1st year without all of the help, and support that everyone here has given!!
Thank you so much for all that you guys do!!
It was a very quick process to get into the home. I had a very informative interview with Miss Megan. She understood my situation and she let me know she would do all she can to help me. Within a week of that interview I was accepted into the home. From the moment I waked in the door everyone was so helpful. I was 28 weeks pregnant and slightly overwhelmed but the staff let me know they were here for every step of the way. While here I accomplished getting my license, setting up insurance and doctors, and I also was able to pursue finishing high school. When my son was delivered I was given all the baby items I could possibly need, even a brand new car seat, swing, and pack and play. Being a first time mom I didn't know much but after attending the parenting classes that were given at the home I knew all I needed to know. Miss Regina helped me through my labor and she was there to talk and she always set time aside for 1 on 1 time. Staff was never too busy to make time for me when I needed to talk. If you are in need and have nowhere to turn I would definitely recommend this home.
I came across this organization about a year ago on Facebook. I had just had my 3rd daughter and definitely needed help. I reached out and spoke with Eileen. Through out the year, I received so much more help than I could have ever imagined. I have to say though, my favorite part of this service is the staff. Eileen would call me regularly to check in on me and my family. Sometimes we would be on the phone talking for 30-45 minutes at a time. She listened to me, validated my thoughts, and helped me when I was going through a very rough time when my husband fell extremely ill. It was so nice to talk to her about life, about being a mom, everything. I’ve told her so many times that it was refreshing to talk to another adult/mom. She took time to really listen to me and I will forever appreciate that. Towards the end I have also spoke with Megan and she is just as wonderful. I am so grateful for this organization and all that they do for mother’s and their children. I highly recommend this organization to anyone who has a young baby and could use some help. Thank you again for everything!!!
Absolutely love! Eileen has gone above and beyond I could ever imagine. I have gotten diapers, wipes and baby food, as well as a couple different baby supplies. She always got back to me quick. She also has helped me on a personal level. Such an amazing organization and loving staff
Today is my last day of getting services at this agency because my daughter turns one. Megan has been so helpful with giving me what I need for my daughter. I really appreciate the help that I have gotten and am thankful for this home. A lot of women need help these days and I hope they are able to find this resource because it has helped my baby and me a lot.
I have been with the home for almost a year now and they are very helpful. Megan has gone out of her way for me and my kids to have whatever we need. They have been supportive and always there to talk and if I need anything.
I learned about blessed Margaret Home through a friend. Eillen been the one helping me out with diapers, wipes, clothes, formula and so on. Not only did I get help with items for my baby, Eillen was always there when I needed someone to talk to. I thank God for this organization
it was a great experience with blessed margaret of castello home for crisis prengnancies they help me a lot with my baby they always here for me everytime i call them
Blessed Margaret Home has been a wonderful resource for my clients in Bensalem, PA. Their outreach services are very well received. Eileen and Megan are so helpful with providing baby necessities, area resources and support.
When I got pregnant the first time I miscarried because I was working and my job was I worked with kids with disabilities who didn’t know better and I got kicked a lot in my stomach. The second time I got pregnant I knew I couldn’t work and not having a second income was going to be extremely difficult. They made it so much easier without any shame. After giving birth it was nearly impossible to find a job during the pandemic and I honestly can express my gratitude enough. It was difficult being a new mom during a pandemic and it was embarrassing for me asking for help. However I would get phone calls reminding me that they are always hear your help and if need anything. Words can not express how amazing Ilean was and how amazing this group is
I am so grateful for Blessed Margaret and their director Eileen. They have provided me with safe, comfortable and judgement free support with my pregnancy. Being a first time mom can be really scary and it's clear how much Eileen and Blessed Margaret care about their clients. Eileen has taken so much time with me to not only provide me with absolutely incredible supplies that I need for my baby when she gets here, but to ease my anxieties and fears that all first time parents have! I've been able to sign up for classes, support groups and Eileen has given me referrals to get the things I need covered by insurance like a breast pump. Their support has made me confident that I will not only have the tools and supplies that I need when my baby gets here, but the support, resources and community as well. They truly care about their clients and really go above and beyond to make each client feel comfortable, heard and cared for. I know that I can lean on them for support and that they will connect me to the best resources. I don't know what I would do without Blessed Margaret and they are a a very needed service for families in our community.
I was just in this home and I have to say it started off okay then I got the hang of things and it ended up completely horrible. Your expected to eat every meal in the kitchen but they say they try to make it feel like home. The staff are very nosey. Don’t give chances to young recovering addicts still trying to find their way. The director is rude and does not care about concerns of the women who are kicked out of the home by her own self. You are expected to pay for some of housemates meals that they’d like to make out of your own pocket whether you have an income or not. The staff say they want you as independent as possible but the director has the right to tell you no to going outside of the home for socializing. What independence is that. They’d rather have you in the house sitting around all day then go out for a day and live your damn life. I’d never recommend this place to anyone. Once you mess up your thrown in the trash and treated like crap.

SMOC Maternity Home 03/09/2021
Limited response due to privacy but I do wish you felt differently. We expect residents to eat in the dining room. While we ask about their lives in order to help them more efficiently, they are always able to decline about things they wish to keep private. We aren't a recovery home & have never been advertised as one. We do take women that are in recovery because we believe in second chances but do not allow any resident to stay if they are actively using. Residents are expected to share the food shopping & staff can & has numerous times assisted if funds are unavailable. We do promote independence & rules have been stricter due to covid. I must make hard choices to keep everyone as safe as possible. All of the above & more are explained in the rules prior to moving in. There are few rules that result in dismissal from the home. In those cases, we always made sure the dismissal was at a reasonable time of day. BMOC is structured & not a fit for everyone. We wish you the best of luck.
Blessed Margaret of Castello Home for Crisis Pregnancies is the definition of what it means to give, assist, help, counsel, advise, support and guide without expectation. I became a resident of the home
mid-August 2019, while 10 weeks pregnant, primarily living out of my vehicle. I was referred by another organization (Marlene) with Hope Pregnancy Center, whom ensured me Blessed Margaret would provide as much support as possible to have a safe and healthy pregnancy. I contacted the organization by phone, explained my circumstances and received help almost immediately. The staff at Blessed Margaret were the driving force to my successful transition from the home. Eileen, Megan, Regina, Roz and a host of board members and volunteers provided support where necessary. I appreciate all the assistance I received through my good and bad days. Initially, all I really wanted was a hot shower and a safe place to lay my head...they provided so much more, and I will forever be grateful.
I been on this place two times in 2012 was the first time and it was a very good experience the people over there was very helpful and now I'm been having help again 10 months ago and make me feel even more comfortable than the first time it's a very good place to go when you are pregnant and need help
I only can say thank you for everything.
I really don’t know where to start. This place has helped me so much. Anywhere from material stuff to find a friend and a person who is willing to listen to you and to help you in anyway they can. I have been coming here since I was pregnant with my second son and he is about to be one. And I can tell you that I’m so sad that the program ends when they turn one. I have found more than I expected. It’s amazing to feel that someone actually cares for you and your situations. I absolutely love this place I love all the girls and I will recommend it to my family, my friends and anybody that I can help to connect to this program.
The absolute worse place i have ever stayed. I stayed here in 2016 and was kicked out for not attending a house meeting. I told the director I had a meeting for permanent housing that same day and would not be able to attend weeks in advanced. When I got back I had to pack my stuff because I was being suspended for a week. I was told I had to call in a week to see if I could come back. I was 7 months pregnant with no where to go. I had to call around for a ride, I asked if I could sit on the porch while I figured things out and was told I could not be on the property. I had to sit on the side of the road and there was no sidewalk in the scorching hot son while I tried to find someone to take me back to Philly. On top of that I had to sign this yellow form we signed daily stating I was there even though I was getting put out so they could collect money for me even when I was not there. I worked while I was there and had to walk over a mile to work again with no side walk, the staff did not transport you unless they felt like it. Living there you had to buy your own food and cleaning supplies and share with everyone else. There was an entire basement full of baby supplies and the director never gave us anything but she would give a ton of donations to outside people and then call us downstairs to show us off to outside people to brag about how much was being done for us. I felt this place was extremely racist and misleading, they treated the young black women who were there like garbage because they were at a disadvantage. I hope this place is under new management because the director and the staff were truly terrible people. I never felt so oppressed in my entire life.

I'm sorry you had a negative experience. I cannot comment on this specifically because I started here in 2018. I can say that the Home does not receive money for women to stay there and never has. We absolutely give residents baby items and assistance with food if they are not receiving SNAP benefits or don't have an income. Transportation can be provided if needed but we try to encourage the residents to be as independent as possible. We treat all residents with respect regardless of race. We have a diverse staff to provide services and take complaints very seriously. Please feel free to call me at 215-245-8039 to discuss further. Eileen- Executive Director
LOVE LOVE LOVE! They have helped me so much with clothes, formula and diapers. I so appreciate them and what they are doing for mother's! Thank you thank you thank you
This non profit organization has helped me during the most difficult time for me. The members of the organization have been there for me for any questions I have had, for a conversation I have needed and also have helped me with baby stuffs throughout the first year of my baby. Thanks them my baby have had everything she has needed to grow up, and I a very good friend that has been there for me with her advice and her motivational words. I do not know how to thank them. For now I only hope that one day to be able to help with donations and why not to be part of them.
They are all very good, caring people. They have helped by providing me with what my newborn baby has needed along the way and I am so grateful for all their help. They have helped an immense amount and even do weekly check up calls to ask if I am in need of anything.
I learned about this wonderful organization through a friend. Over the last few months, I have received support in the form of diapers, wipes, clothing for my four year old as well as my new baby (the list goes on). The staff is kind and always willing to lend an ear. I have never felt judged because of my socioeconomic status and I can say with certainty that this organization is the real deal. I look forward to our next meeting.
I was an intern at Blessed Margaret Castello Home for two semesters and it is a good experience for Health Promotion & Wellness majors. I was able to teach the residents in the home as well as counsel outside clients. The staff are very helpful and patient with their clients. They care about the women who come to them for help and do their best to supply them with the necessities they need for their children and themselves. They assist their clients with outside sources and follow up with their clients to ensure that they have received the extra assistance that they need. They are one of a kind.
Love blessed Margaret. They were very nice and definitely very helpful being a single mom!! I wish it went longer than 1 yr. I'm gonna miss the staff very much!! And they're such caring people!
I loved going there they helped me so much n they are so nice and they always ask u how ur feeling and what's going on in your life and I liked that but if you need help this is the place to go they are amazing!!! This l you do much guys
I am the mother of 3 kids. i want to thank all the staff at Blessed Margaret home for all the help and understanding they provided me during this prosses with my 3 kids. you are the best. thanks so much.
I moved into the Blessed Margaret Home November of 2018 while I was 3 months pregnant. I was previously living in my car for about two months. The staff was very accommodating and quick to move me in because of my situation. I enjoyed the classes that helped me become a great mom and I liked the one on ones with Megan when I could open up about things that were going on my life. We created a good bond to make it comfortable to live here. I was able to stay here after I gave birth until I found my apartment. The staff was genuine in their concern for me and my baby. Now I visit twice a month so that the staff can watch my daughter grow and we are able to talk. I still meet with Megan for one on ones and am able to get advice and ask questions about my baby and what to expect of the different stages until she is one. If you are looking for housing and are pregnant I 110% would recommend the Blessed Margaret Home.
I am an intern at Blessed Margaret, and truly ever since the day that I got hired the staff has been nothing short of welcoming and helpful. Being that this is my first experience in the field and outside of classes, it's terrifying because all you could hope for is accepting supervisors who strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible and reassure you that help is always available. I was lucky enough to have received that. The best part is that no matter who I am with while i work, every employee is equally as caring and willing to lend a hand as the next. I will be forever grateful to have begun my journey here and to have met all of the incredible individuals that I did. I look forward to seeing this company grow into everything that they have/are currently working so hard to make it become.
VERY VERY NICE PPL HERE LOVE HOW THEY WORK VERY HELPFUL GOOD SUPPORT THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP
I have been coming here since April of 2018 to this home. I've been getting help since I was pregnant and its helped me and my daughter a lot. The staff here is really nice and helpful. They have always been able to help me with what I need for my daughter.
It's a nice place to be and they help you with a lot of things. Its been a good thing for me since I got pregnant coming here because I have been acquiring a lot of information from Megan about my pregnancy.
I have been a client for 8 months. My experience has been amazing. I have 4 kids and my friend recommended me to the Blessed Margaret Home for my kids needs and I come here every two weeks. It is helpful to receive diapers, wipes, and clothes here at the home.
I am really thankful for all the help and the support they give me. They have helped me all through my pregnancy and after and I appreciate it. They help me with stuff for my baby. Thank God for this home and hope they continue blessing other people.
BMOC is a very comfortable and safe environment. Eileen is genuine and caring and was willing to answer any and all questions I had. She made me feel welcome and very supported.
For me I am grateful and everything is good. I am glad staff helps us with diapers and clothes for our babies. I have been coming to this home since 2010 when I was pregnant with my 1st child. I now have 3 girls and have been helped for all my children.
I have been coming here for 6 months and I am very pleased with the people who work here and the organization. I am very thankful for whoever started this program. God bless them and their families.
Blessed Margaret became a home for me when I had no place to go to. They accepted me, showed me love and supported me through my journey. As a first time mom, I was inexperienced and didn’t know what to expect, but Megan and Roz helped me by educating me. We had weekly classes and we were allowed to express our feelings.
While living in that home I felt so much comfort. The environment is very clean, the rooms are very spacious, it’s a full functional house and very importantly, the staff are amazing. They became family.
I felt at home during my time at Blessed Margaret. I know not so many of us like rules, but I think the rules at home were easy and reasonable. I enjoyed being looked out for. They really cared about our safety. I was called (checked up on) each time I was late and that made me feel good. At least someone cared for my safety.
I got supplies regularly from them. I got most of the things I needed for my baby and that saved me a lot money. BTW I still get supplies from them even after leaving the home.
I can go on and on. But I’ll like to emphasize on how supportive the staff are. They all became family to me. Megan is an amazing person she showed me so much love. And Eileen is just a beautiful soul, she’s selfless and honestly cares for people. Roz is a great person too, and the volunteers that came during the weekends are just a full bag of joy.
I loved my time there, and I’ll recommend this home for anyone who needs help and support. BLESSED MARGARET HOME IS A HOME AWAY FROM HOME.
I am truly blessed to be able to go to Blessed Margaret Home and receive the essentials for my babies. The staff there are super awesome! I would totally recommend this organization to anyone that needs additional support for their family. I am extremely thankful to have them as apart of my support team.
Blessed Margaret of Castello home has helped me sooo much!!! anything I am in need of they are always quick to get for me including a car seat. And my monthly visits are something I always look forward too! Eileen and Meghan are great! thank you guys!!

Since February 2019 I have been coming here since I found out I was pregnant. I enjoy coming here and talking about the pregnancy and the kids of how we are doing. It is a lovely place and they help us a lot.
Been coming here almost 2 months and it has been a good experience. Everything is going well for me and I am appreciative of the home. I am due in July.
I have been coming to the Blessed Margaret Home for the past nine months. I have received help with getting diapers, wipes, and clothing for my daughter. I come every two weeks and get to talk to a counselor about how my baby is doing and any problems that I may be having. I feel comfortable here.
I honestly do not know where to start! This home has been a BLESSING for my family. I have no idea where we would be without them. We are expecting twins in about 2 weeks and since my husband has been out of work they helped to get our family prepared for their arrival. We have had nothing but positive experiences with the home and everyone has been loving, caring, and helpful every step of they way. I really don’t know where we would be without the help and support of this whole nonprofit. We are truly greatful.
Of all the boards on which I have served, the Blessed Margaret Home has been the most fulfilling and fruitful. It is so nice when expectant moms tells us how "at home" they feel when staying with us - this is not an institution, it is a genuine Home where our mom-to-be guests can relax, be themselves, and converse with each other and the wonderful staff & volunteers. And after mom gives birth, they are welcome back with open arms as they prepare a happy and productive life with her new baby.
This is a nourishing and encouraging place!
This shelter is not the best but not the worst. You cannot take naps here even if you work. You cannot have your phone past "bed time" which is 11o' clock. You have to pay for cleaning supplies and all toiletries for the house. You have to work until your due date or they will kick you out. You have to have foodstamps or give them 150$ in cash. You cannot show any anger or they will take it as attitude and write you up. They kind of bug you about getting along with the other girls even though we all have raging hormones. Oh yeah cant watch t.v until after 4 and you have to clean the house twice a week.

The rules have been updated. We try to be accommodating to each women's unique needs. I would be more than happy to discuss your concerns. We require all staff and residents treat one another with kindness. Please reach out if you ever need support again. Eileen- Director
This place is horrible. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. You will be better off sleeping in a dog house. The staff doesn't care and they dont try to help either. All they do is make unnecessary rules as they go. They even go as low as trying to start drama between the residents. This place gets no stars honestly but I had to at least choose one.

I was not here at the time of your stay but I can assure you that most staff from that time period are not here anymore. We respect everyone that comes into this house. We are here to help if you ever need it. Eileen- Director
This is the worst shelter ever! They will kick you out late at night with no where to go. They only like certain girls. The person in charge curses at us and gets really rude. I would really recommend a different shelter!!!!! They only give out rides when they want to! They will take advantage at the fact that your homeless.

I am sorry you had a negative experience. I was not here at the time you were but I can assure you that no current staff would ever curse at you. We are here to help in a safe environment where you would be respected. Please reach out if you ever need support again. Eileen- Director

This home does not provide food. They make you feel bad about going to a food bank when the fridge is empty. The fridge is empty more than often and they also tell us not to buy take out but on the other hand they tell us we need to buy cleaning supplies and our own toiletries to share. They charge 150$ to live here and make up rules and go by favoritism. Their website needs to truthful because they do not provide anything but a bed and once in a while baby clothes when they want to.

I was not here at the time of your stay so I can only comment on the home since I started in 2018. We do provide food if you do not have an income or receive food stamps. Yes, we would encourage you to visit a food bank if needed. There is no charge to live here but you are required to buy your own personal items. We help our residents enroll in school/ job search, register for benefits and provide numerous baby items such as diapers/wipes, formula, clothes, etc. Please reach out if you ever need assistance again. Eileen- Director
I don't know who or what the previous reviewers were talking about. My time at the Blessed Margaret home was a godsend and I can surely attest that staff do the work out of their love and concern for the unborn and for mothers with nowhere to turn.
I was given advice, treated with respect and kindness. I had cozy shelter, rides to the store and parenting classes.
Now You have no control over your housemates but there's potential for great kinship if you're open and respectful. Blessed is an amazing home.
The two ladies that currently run here make up their own rules and will find little things to kick you out. They suspend residents to give staff a break and also compare one person situation to the next. The staff are not supportive of residents only each other. Be better off in different shelter.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I have been director here for a year and would never tolerate that behavior from staff. Our staff is respectful, caring and supportive. I require all staff and residents to treat each other in a kind manner. Please reach out if you ever need support again. Eileen- Director
This home is horrible. They take people in manipulate them, tear them down, and then kick them out! The woman who runs it is in it for the money. Truly sad!

I cannot comment on that time period but I can assure you the staff at that time are no longer here. Please reach out if you ever need assistance again. We are truly here to help. Eileen- Director
