Mission: Safe shelter provides safety, support, and resources to individuals affected by domestic abuse. We promote empowerment through direct services and community education, advocating for the right of every individual to live a life free of intimidation, exploitation, and abuse.
Programs: In 2017, safe shelter provided direct, face-to-face services to 525 clients, including 377 women, 134 children, and 14 men. We provided support on 2,380 crisis calls, 472 information and referral calls and 76 counseling calls. 362 clients were provided legal advocacy services and restraining orders either by phone or in person. 30 clients received funds from the attorney assistant program. 15 received free legal clinics. The emergency shelter provided 4,764 bed nights to 196 adults, youth and children. The outreach and emergency shelter programs privided 1,550 individual and group counseling sessions.
