Mission: Safe Haven - Avian Placement & Education, Inc. was created to respond to the growing numbers of displaced parrots seen in newspaper ads, on consignment in pet stores and in answer to plea's from owners. Staffed completely by volunteers, we frequently network with people who are seeking placement for loud, destructive, abused, behaviorally challenged or handicapped birds. Parrots long life spans necessitate inclusion in wills, and educating prospective owners to provide an enriching and safe environment. Through sanctuary, adoption and education, Safe Haven can help the public make an informed choice, whether or not, to bring a parrot into their lives.
