RxART has collaborated with ICU baby for nearly 5 years now. The team has provided RxART Coloring Books for families with a baby in South Florida NICUs and, in doing so, has brought them some much needed stress relief. These books have allowed parents a brief respite from the emotional challenges of navigating their baby's NICU stay. When walking through the Unit, it's heartwarming to see a parent coloring during their baby's procedure or in between touch times. Thanks to the beautiful generosity of RxArt for partnering with us and providing such an important piece to our NICU support.
Children’s National Hospital has had the pleasure of working with RxArt and their incredible international artists for more than 15 years. RxArt has brought so much joy, happiness, love, patience, creativity, compassion, and peace of mind, not only to our patients and families but also to our staff and visitors. RxArt’s art installations have been a pure joy for everyone. It truly touches your heart and soul to see the smiles they bring to the faces of our patients and families.
Thank you RxArt for sharing your love for the healing arts in our healthcare environments.

We at Rockefeller University Hospital are very proud that we were the first site RxART chose to partner with in the display of art to enhance the hospital's environment for patients and staff. The superb artworks selected by Diane Brown have transformed our environment, providing visual stimulation and engagement. The staff considers the works wonderful friends that enrich our space and humanize our environment. Patients have commented on their appreciation of the artistic quality and interesting complexity of the works.
We wish RxArt continued great success as it transforms the pediatric patient experience for the better!

Rady Children's had the honor of working with RxART on a project for our Chadwick Center for Children and Families. Children are seen in the Chadwick Center following an abusive or traumatic experience. Diane Brown and Megan Skidmore were fantastic to work with and helped us identify calming and soothing artwork. The kids love being greeted by the Giant Pandas as they step off the elevator!
I've been fortunate enough to have been connected with RxArt from the time it was no more than a gleam in the eyes of the co-founders, Diane Brown and Eliza Moore. From that early inspiration, RxArt has grown over the years into an organization that the founders could never have fully imagined.
I've watched in awe the transformation of sterile, cold hospital hallways and diagnostic equipment, even privacy curtains, into warm and welcoming places for frightened children and their parents. I've celebrated the healing impact of bright colors, depictions of cartoon characters, fuzzy animals and parts of nature that a patient experiences. I've greatly admired the compassion of well-known artists who've given their time and talent to contribute to the healing of many children. I've experienced and witnessed joy.
My sincere wish is that many more children's medical facilities could be touched by this unique foundation, which is giving, not only to children and families in need, but also to its supporters, who benefit in ways that are immeasurable!
RxArt is an amazing organization that has been able to provide comfort and joy to both the patients and staff at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY. Everyone who works at RxArt is caring and compassionate, always willing to go the extra mile to help your organization and their products are beautiful and well crafted. We always look forward to the new coloring book editions!
Children's Hospital Los Angeles had the privilege of partnering with RxArt to bring two art installations to the hospital, both of which have had a transformative affect. The RXArt team were thoughtful in the presentation of world-renowned artists and concepts for consideration and worked diligently through the hospital's approval process and protocols for installation. We have received appreciative comments from patients, families, visitors, as well as staff . We are grateful to RxArt for their contribution to creating an uplifting environment at our hospital.
I am happy I found RxArt!!
I cam across this organization on LinkedIn. I immediately followed them as I have a passion for art as well as a passion for child health. RxArt's mission greatly aligns with my mission, so when I saw an opportunity to share their work, I immediately did so.
RxArt partners with hospitals to give away free coloring books for children. I connected RxArt with my employers, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) through the Child Life Center. The process for the organizing the donation was very easy and their employee, Sara, was always timely and courteous when communicating. I plan to continue partnering with RxArt in the future!!
RxART: Elevating the Human Experience in Health Care

My hopes for what the Pediatric Emergency Department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem could be, have now been completely realized thanks to the amazing organization, RxART. In 2018, I sought to improve the patient and employee experience in our department and knew this could be accomplished with the addition of art to our blank walls. There was one problem though, I had no budget allocated to do so. However, I did not allow this to crush my hopes for what I envisioned our department could become. I knew it was possible and would only be possible, with the support, kindness and love from individuals who care the same way as I do for my patients, families, staff, and the Harlem community at large.
From my first meeting with Diane Brown and Megan Skidmore at RxART, I was reminded of angels who walk among us. The only thing we don't see are their wings upon their backs. I am fortunate to have met both Diane and Megan and will forever be indebted for all they have done for our department.
Through our partnership, RxART has introduced art into our Pediatric Emergency Department transforming our space from a cold, stark clinical environment into a warm, compassionate space filled with inspiration and joy. Our collaboration resulted with a project culminating in December of 2018 with the Keith Haring Foundation and an installation of a detailed drawing by the late artist, Keith Haring which was enlarged and reproduced as a wall decal for the main wall of the Pediatric Emergency Department Waiting Room.
To our surprise, RxART announced they wanted to continue to work with us and bring additional art to other parts of our department. In September of 2020, a project was completed with the artist Derrick Adams whose detailed design was translated into wall coverings for our six private Patient Treatment Rooms in the Pediatric Emergency Department.
In 2021, I conducted a study titled, Impact of Art on the Human Experience in the Pediatric Emergency Department which surveyed 500 pediatric patients, family members and staff of the Pediatric Emergency Department at NYC Health + Hospitals/ Harlem on their experiences with the two art installations by RxART in the waiting room and patient treatment rooms. Overwhelming, our qualitative and quantitative results demonstrated the added visual art positively impacting both the patient and employee experience, and thus overall, the human experience.
Voices from the survey:
“The paintings make you feel more welcome.”- Pediatric Patient
“I love the art of Derrick Adams, not only did my son have fun identifying all the colors and animals in Derrick’s art, but it also changed his mood for the better.”- Parent
“The beauty of the painting always brightens my day.”- Staff Member
We are fortunate to have the art from our two projects with RxART featured on the cover of their "Between the Lines": Coloring Book Volume 7 and Volume 8. RxART has donated thousands of copies of their coloring books to us and have been given out to our patients in the Pediatric Emergency Department. Our staff love giving them out and our patients and families are happy to hear and learn about the love which RxART has for them.
RxART truly cares about the children we serve in our Pediatric Emergency Department and their love for them extends beyond just art. RxART has proudly supported Harlem Reads, an initiative in our Pediatric Emergency Department, where our patients receive brand new, age-appropriate books, in an effort to improve childhood literacy. Over the years, RxART has helped sponsor our annual holiday event which brings hundreds of local school children who get to enjoy storytelling, performances and with each child leaving with a bag of new books. During these events, Diane Brown has kindly given her time as one of our storytellers and has read her favorite books to the children.
RxART not only cares about our children, but also our staff. RxART embodies what humanity is, human beings helping human beings. The first few months of the global COVID-19 pandemic was a difficult period in our department with uncertainty, staying safe and the loss of fellow staff members and loved ones. What allowed us to persevere, was knowing and having the support from others letting us know they are right beside us in this fight. In the first year of the pandemic, RxART organized a campaign and made a donation to help support the staff of our hospital. RxART did not have to do this, but they did, because they cared.
RxART is an organization which makes a difference in the millions of lives they have reached through their projects all over the country. They touch souls in so many ways with all that they do. They bring the power of art to communities and convey messages of hope, love and peace. I am truly blessed and fortunate because of RxART. I thank RxART for being a part of our story in the Pediatric Emergency Department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem.
It is my pleasure to endorse RxArt on the Great Nonprofits website. RxArt is a wonderful nonprofit organization working to pair artists with hospital environments, because they know that art heals.
RxArt came highly recommended, and while the hospital's art committee normally works on commissions independently, when RxArt reached out, we saw this as a valuable opportunity to partner with a trusted nonprofit to benefit our patients and families.
Stanford Medicine: Children's Health has many living artists in its collection, but we don't have that many artists who represent the New York school. Additionally, RxArt represents artists who are really quite established in the art world. So, it was a treat when they showed us four world-renowned artists to pick from.
While not yet installed, our future murals will be by artist Rashid Johnson, and we're thrilled that by including Rashid Johnson's art in our collection, RxArt is helping us to diversify our collection. This is part of our DE&I initiative for 2023.
We will have six installations by Johnson with two different compositions installed floor to ceiling. We're getting so close to installation and are doing final site visits this week. As the art curator at Stanford Medicine: Children's Health, I can't wait to see these installations. We are truly grateful to RxArt for this partnership!
