Causes: Mens Service Clubs
Mission: The rotary club of mcallen south supports education through scholarships and donations. Additionally, the rotary club of mcallen south supports the mission of rotary international through financial donations and project volunteers.
Programs: The mcallen south rotary club was chartered in 1973. The club is comprised of nearly 100 men and woman who work, or have worked, in a variety of local industries. The club conducts two signature fundraisers during the year to raise funds shared between rotary international, local charites and to provide scholarships to local students going to college. Oktoberfest is held in the fall of each year and is a homage to the great october festivals around the world. The crawfish boil is a joint fundraising event with other mcallen rotary clubs and brings a little bit of cajun culture to the valley. Additionally, the club participates in several service projects throughout the year such as the comfort house walk-a-thon, building soldier care packages, mcallen memorial high school interact club, and partnership with habitat for humanity to build houses for needy families.
