Attended the Night in Africa gala - WOW is was a wonderful event - started with cocktail hour and African drum band that moved between the guest. there was a raffle and number of silent auction items. When the doors opened to the dinning room we were impressed with the setup. We had fun dancing after the event and the drinks we all free which was good. I made a donation, and bought a raffle ticket. I felt like the money raised will be well sued and I am happy I attended. I plan to attend again. This is a good one.
Been involved with rose sand rosemary for over 10 years now and so pleased to see their growth.
They now support 9 programs in 4 countries. The countries include Rwanda, Lesotho, Zimbabwe AND South Africa. They work hard to make sure the donations made in Seattle are used wisely in Africa. They follow up and visit the locations and have very strict rules about what money can be used for. They focus on children impacted by HIV. They also make sure to follow back up with donors to keep them updated on use of funds. I very impressive group of people.
A Night in Africa Gala. Table captain. After attending an event a few years ago and wanted to bring a table of friend to the gala. We all got dressed up and headed to the Westin in Bellevue. We were excited for the night and it did not disappoint. We had a BLAST. We paid wine toss, my friend bought a sailing trip, we bid on auction items and then made donations. The food was quite good for 300-person event and we had lots of free wine!! I will be back next year and so glad we had a good time while helping children in others that need help. Hope this review encourages other to be a table captain. Thanks!
After a friend told me about the work Roses and Rosemary performs I checked their web site and decided to donate. I know that my donation will go to South Africa after talking with them. I could match my donation at work which mean there is double impact. I feel good about myself for donating to this charity.
Used Volunteer Match to find this charity. They contacted me and explained what the volunteer needs were. I thought it sounded interesting. I showed up on the night of the event and helped with the silent auction set up and then the running of the program. It was simple and well explained work, and I felt like I helped. I was able to stay for the rest of the night an enjoyed the speeches and dance floor that went to 11:30. Overall, I was very pleased with how they worked and glad to have been involved. They seems like a quality outfit.
They did it again – a killer good event at the Westin “A Night in Africa gala”. I took a friend with me and they now want to be a volunteer. I am inspired to help this kids in Africa now also. So happy to have found Roses & Rosemary and everyone at my table had a good time. Thank You.
I went to a trip to Africa to see the work that Roses and Rosemary performs and it was life changing. I mean they are in with the neediest children in the country providing services such as medication, food and shelter. It was something I will always remember and proud to be associated with this charity.
I helped with the recent Gala in Bellevue and it was amazing! The team was so helpful and we knew exactly what to do and when. I also really felt that the work I did helped the gala go well. They had almost 300 guest attending and it was soo much fun. I was happy to donate my time and my company matched it. It was great night
It has been interesting to watch them grow and mature as a professional charity. They started in 2004 without much know how, however now (2013) they have grown into a professional level charity. Well done to them all. The event in 2012 was well received and I spoke to a few people that attended, they said they had a good time and apparently raised a lot of money for the cause.
Made a donation last year at the annual event. The event was fun and really touched me, I feel for those Orphans in Africa. I know that the money I gave has helped an Orphan.
These guys ROCK!!!! I had such a good time as a volunteers. They contacted me and needed some help at an event. It was all very professional and I felt like I knew what I needed to do.
It was wonderful to meet the other volunteers and share common sense of community.
When you think about it, these children are born into an incredibly challenging situation. Born with a chronic and fatal disease, the same disease that has taken their parent's lives, these children need our generosity to help them have a normal, sustainable life. Roses and Rosemary has provided live sustaining medication through fundraising over the last 8 years and the organization's continued work keeps 100's of children alive. While that number may pale in comparison to the millions that are infected with the HIV virus it still makes all the difference in their lives. The more support Roses and Rosmeary receives the more lives we can save.
I have been a part of this organization for 4 years now and I have seen the impact made on these children's lives. Often these children are forgotten but these drugs make a difference. I am a part of this organization because I want to be the voice of these children who are often crying but not often heard.
I have seen first-hand the positive impact that funds raised by Roses & Rosemary have on the HIV/ AIDS impacted children of Southern Africa. I had the priviledge of visiting some of the charities in South Africa that R&R supports and met many of the families that are supported by these funds raised. It was so touching to see the children with HIV who had received medication funded by R&R living a very healthy life....playing soccer in the street with their friends or helping mom in the kitchen! Roses & Rosemary has an extensive screening process to ensure that the charities they work with only use the funds as intended....to provide medication and direct support to these children. They often visit the charities personally to see the funds at work! It is reassuring to know that donations given go straight to the children who need the support.
