A beyond amazing place. Heaven on earth, not only for the rescued piggies, moos, chickens, goats and turkeys, but for all who enter the gates. Spending time with these beautiful animals is truly a special gift. Elaine is one of the kindest souls I've ever met in my entire life, and I aspire to one day be even half the woman that she is.
Where do I begin? My visit to Rooterville was an absolutely wonderful and memorable experience. My mom and I were greeted by a kind young man who gave us a great tour of this beautiful sanctuary. It was a privilege to meet these darling pigs and other animals up close and to hear about their stories. The animals at Rooterville are very well taken care of!!! We really enjoyed giving belly rubs to the pigs and sharing fruit snacks with them. I highly recommend a visit to Rooterville!!
Rooterville is a well taken care of sanctuary where the animals receive the care they need. Elaine West shows her face as the face of Rooterville but without Doni, the sanctuary manager nothing would be possible. Doni is an amazing woman that always stays when everyone else quits because of the toxic work environment founder Elaine West exudes. If there is anyone out there that would like to take Elaine's position, that would be amazing, and welcomed!!!!!
Laura is a disgruntled former employee who could not fulfill the duties of the position she was hired for and she is a very toxic and hateful person. That is why she is no longer part of a successful team.
I visited Rooterville a few weeks ago. Rooterville is a Disney World of rescue for pigs. Elaine has a huge heart for the pigs and other animals. The whole place is very well maintained and as I noticed very soon, all of the pigs were healthy and happy.
We visited there with our children and our friend's family. The kids loved getting to pet and feed the pigs and explore the sanctuary. The volunteer hosting us was very friendly and knowledgeable. The playset and shaded area was great and we loved seeing all the well taken care of animals there. Pretty butterfly garden too!
I made my first visit to Rooterville in May and the event really changed my life. Seeing the animals up close, making contact with them, and hearing their stories really brought home to me the reality that they are the same as we humans -- in every way that matters. They have families, interests, and desires, and want to enjoy a life free from pain and want, just like we do. Elaine, Doni, Lynn, Dane, and all the staff and volunteers were friendly, informative and inviting. My friends and I slept in the "barn" enclosure and it was magical to wake up to the sounds of happy animals every morning. I highly recommend this sanctuary to anyone who wants to experience the natural beauty and contentment of farm animals living freely to express themselves -- the way it should be. Thanks for all you do, Rooterville! ♥
We try to support several animal rescue organizations and do our best to see that the money is well managed and that the animals are really the priority. Love us some Rooterville!!
Volunteered and visited! This is a great, wonderful and compassionate place to connect with farm animals. A very well taken care of Sanctuary with happy farm animals, rescued from cruelty or abandonment.
I will return and continue to bring friends to educate and volunteer. Thank you Rooterville A Sanctuary for saving the vulnerable and being a voice for the voiceless!
Most amazing place for animals! Most amazing people that care for animals and humans a like.... They transform lives!
Rooterville is the epitome of what you expect and love about a life saving and life changing sanctuary for animals to be!
I LOVE THIS PLACE! They take amazing care of their animals. I have done tours and volunteered here, i cant wait to come back! I am so thankful there are people and places like this to help the helpless!
I'm so grateful a place like Rooterville exists! This isn't a petting zoo, it is a sanctuary where animals go to live naturally. Animals that may have been abused and neglected and may have died if not for Rooterville. Rooterville rocks! Check out one of their volunteer days :-)
I visited the farm on one of their volunteer days and was thoroughly impressed. I was surrounded by hardworking, dedicated people who love helping animals. The animals themselves were so happy and carefree in their environment. I would recommend visiting the farm to everyone because it is a wonderful place to visit.
My wife & I spent 2 days & 1 night at Rooterville. The sanctuary was awesome! The animals really are spoiled, and we loved that we could interact with them. We fed them, & learned that cows like bananas :) .. We hope everyone has a chance to visit and see firsthand how cool & friendly these animals really are. Chris & Betty Foster
We finally got around to visiting Rooterville, and we are so glad we did! The love for the residents is evident in all the hard work that goes on there. People who have complained about it being dirty obviously don't go outside very much, let alone to see how animals live outdoors.( by the way, this is NOT a petting zoo!) We found it to be clean and peaceful. We plan on visiting and volunteering regularly.
After looking at the other reviews, I thought Rooterville would be a kind of fantastic petting zoo, but it wasn’t like that at all. We were very surprised. I never write negative reviews, but I think this may be a public service. My family and I love going to animal sanctuaries and zoos, and this is the worst one we’ve ever been to.
It was honestly filthy, gross, and it’s full of pigs swimming around in a big mud puddle. Some of the pigs are pushy and scared our youngest. They only have two ponies, and one of them is too scared to get near you. Plus they don’t tell you they’re Christian and vegan, but those are the focuses of their educational outreach. They spent a lot of time trying to preach to us about being a good Christian by never eating meat again. If you want to get preached to at a dirty, stinky place where you ruin your shoes and get pig snot on your clothes, then perhaps a trip to Rooterville is fine. Otherwise, go to that impressive wild animal sanctuary outside Miami. That was incredible. Or just go to any of the other sanctuaries.
To dirty. Like 300 pigs. Barely anything else. Total waste of our day. Don't understand why their are all these happy reviews?
Rooterville is heaven on earth for sweet animals that would have otherwise had a horrible life!!! Everyone that works there really cares about the animals and welcomes all visitors! What a wonderful place!!!
I have been to Rooterville several times! It is clean and awesome place! The owner and staff are very welcoming! There is a lot of valuable information about animals on the property. Most of all it is a place where animals are loved ! I have volunteered there and loved the experience! It is indeed a sanctuary for all! I can't wait to go back !
This sanctuary opened my eyes to how animals should be treated. I have since changed my diet and lifestyle and have never felt better. I owe a lot to Rooterville! It is truly an amazing place for animals as well as people.
