Mission: We, in partnership with our community, provide a comfortable and caring home away from home that supports keeping families together and reduces stress during a child's serious illness.

Programs: Lodging: the ronald mcdonald house - oak street provides a supportive home-away-from-home for families who live more than 60 miles away from the twin cities and whose children are being treated for cancer and other life-threatening illness. In 2017, this program supported 228 families. 41% of the families reside out-of-state and 59% are from greater mn. The average length of stay for families of bone marrow transplants was 126 nights while the average stay for other families was 65 nights. The program provided a total of 14,835 nights of lodging. Family services: a variety of supportive family services are provided for families supported through this program. A licensed alternative k-12 school is available for siblings and children who are patients while staying at the ronald mcdonald house. Other services provided are after school programs, a summer program and various evening activities 5 nights a week. The program covers the cost of accommodating 48 families who live at the house each day. No family is ever turned away for inability to make a financial contribution. Rmh bills certain states and counties for children's special health care services funds. During 2017, rmh received $116,340 from these house reimbursements.

The cooks for kids program provides evening meals for families at all four lodging facilities. 1501 groups and 1020 individual volunteers worked as house volunteers, friends of families, ambassadors and in development projects to provide vital support for the rmh mission for a total of 62,008 hours at a value of $1,637,011.
