Causes: Health, Patient & Family Support
Mission: The rmhcs mission is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children by focusing on the critical needs of children, leading with compassion, celebrating the diversity of our people and programs, valuing our heritage, and operatiing with accountability and transparency.
Programs: Our three ronald mcdonald houses in san antonio, tx and two ronald mcdonald house family rooms in laredo, tx, offer comfortable, affordable lodging and respite rooms for families of seriously ill and injured children. In our homes families are able to give and receive much needed emotional support from families going through similar situations. Our homes, which are open twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year, provided a haven for over 1,850 families. A total of 5,153 individuals stayed with us or used our facilities during the year. This number includes parents, patients and siblings. These families came from throughout the united states, mexico and across the globe. Finally, during 2017, hundreds of volunteer hours were contributed to our organization allowing us to provide the special support and care essential to turning our houses into true homes and fulfill our mission.
