Mission:
Rooted in the Catholic reverence for the value of each person, the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh Foundation was established in 1984 to meet the increasing demands of the diocese’s burgeoning pastoral, educational and social programs. The Foundation’s purpose is to provide a permanent and secure funding stream to stabilize, strengthen and grow the Church’s mission and ministries. At the same time the Foundation provides individual Catholics – and women and men of good will who share the Church’s commitment to education, social services, health care and charity – a unique opportunity to leave a lasting personal legacy that can fulfill their call to be good stewards of the many gifts God has provided them, and to extend their charitable influence to the lives of future generations within a six county region that is southwestern Pennsylvania.
