Target demographics: The RollinBuckeyez Foundation’s (RBF) mission is to provide social and recreational activities to children and families to strengthen family bonds and proactively address health and wellness challenges. RBF focuses on using roller skating, a fun and safe activity, as a way to bring physical exercise and skill-building to the communities that need it the most. It works all of the major muscle groups and can burn up to 300-600 calories per hour and is a way to have fun, listen to music and meet others in the community.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Last year we embrace over 1000 Men women and children with our family events and programs

Geographic areas served: Cleveland and surrounding cities is our homebases.

Programs: Through our H.E.A.L (Health Exercise Arts Literacy) curriculum, we offer a camp in which students learn the basics of roller skating, choreographed moves and dance routines, confidence building, social skills, team building, and physical activity. Also, in the camp, children learn sportsmanship, responsibility, the benefits of hard work, and increase self-esteem. Our staff encourages participants to continue being active well after their camp experience ends.

This is a program that only comes around once in a lifetime. Ken, his wife and kids along with volunteers of the skate community have spent countless hours, money and sweat to instruct and help our communities by offering everyone the opportunity to learn how to skate. Not only that, but this program has a steady history of bringing together other skaters and non skaters from across the country for both the atmosphere and skating events.. This program has opened up the door for both youth and adults to experience a productive outlet while being entertained..

At Ingenuity Cleveland, we are leaders in Cleveland's Creativity and Innovation Community, and Kenny and Rollin' Buckeyez are a key part of our family and strategy in pursing this work. We work with Kenny on multiple large events per year, and have had the extreme privilege of watching this nonprofit grow over the past four years - Kenny is incredibly committed, understands his audience well, and knows how to bridge communities at the level of the individual/family and the neighborhood/city. His mission and organization serve a critical need - to bring health, physical education, and a sense of play to the parts of our region that have lost resources - but he also serves a wide audience and thinks about partnerships broadly. We cannot recommend Rollin' Buckeyez highly enough!

This nonprofit organization is very vital to the city of Euclid and all of Greater Cleveland. It teaches our children respect for one another no matter who they are. It also keeps a tradition growing and learning about itself to the point of where it will never be forgotten. And we should be proud of Kenneth Perdue and his
rollinbuckeyez staff and all that they do for the children and everyone else that participates in this nonprofit program.

With all that’s misfortune in many communities, here we have an organization that is adding value to these same communities by especially giving the youth something to do other than getting in trouble and at the same time a learning experience, exercise and fun.

I am extremely impressed with the Rollin Buckeyez. They bring health equity to our local community through their innovative roller skating program. They creatively re-purpose open space and greenspace to encourage outdoor recreation during summer months, which promote fitness as an alternative to video gaming, keeping kids active and fit. The owners have a desire to expand the program but need additional financial backing. I hope this creates a platform for them to expqnd.

This organization gives added meaning to a hobby and culture many of us love and creates a bridge to those on the outside to connect with a world that cultivates so much personal growth. This foundation is not just productive but NECESSARY. It will continue to be an asset to our inner city youth moving forward.

My experience with the foundation was and has always been wonderful and encouraging . As a roller skater for 30 years, it's been a part of my life and that of my children. I thought every one had access to this sport. It wasnt till I went to support a RBF session with the kids from the westside of cleveland, that I realized many of them had no clue on how to skate. Their excitement and joy at learning and excelling was beautiful to see!. I hope the work of the RBF with the commitment of the Perdue Family continues to give the children in our community the opportunity to know this sport with providing their pop up rinks and summer programs. I hope that a funder(s) can see the importance of this foundation to our communities as the RBF teaches more than skating: like confidence, team work, commitment, trust, strength of body and mind!. Please Fund this Nonprofit!!

I've worked with Rollin Buckeyez for several huge festival events and it never ceases to amaze me how wonderfully these "pop up" roller rinks always turn out! Kenny's dedication is unsurpassed. I've seen him personally spend hours clearing, leveling, even re-building ground surfaces to ensure participant safety; then countless hours more carefully decorating and building a theme to create an all-encompassing experience. The volunteers who keep the rinks running are always friendly and knowledgeable, but more importantly they're *excited* by the opportunity, and that shows a lot about an organization. Participants who visit the rinks ALWAYS have a blast! Kenny's rinks are always one of the most talked-about highlights of any event at which I've seen him work his magic.

Many non-profits raise funds or awareness, and that's great, but Rollin Buckeyez actually engages communities on an active level. Getting people involved and providing a service is a wonderful thing. I hope to see Kenny and his team continue to activate unusual spaces and get the community involved all across Cleveland!

The opportunities afforded to children though the RollinBuckeyez Turning Wheels program are wonderful. Learning how to skate teaches children to take risks and work hard. When they fall, they get back up and try again.

Fantastic mission and work. Who doesn’t light up when there’s a roller skating rink in an unexpected place? Plus an invitation to participate, skates of all sizes, and friendly smiles to encourage even the most cautious youngsters? It’s a wonderful organization!

This organization is genuinely invested in the health and wellness of Greater Cleveland.

They work hard to provide fun alternatives of fitness where there is a lack of opportunity and exposure to healthy lifestyles.

I volunteered years ago at their Halloran Skate Camp where they took community members ages 8-80 years old by the hand and taught them about discipline and dedication through skating. They would make sure each attendee left with healthy snacks as a reward for their hard work. I watched them build up individuals strength and taught them something they were once scared to do.

Everything in their vision and mission is manifesting. They truly walk the talk.

I love them and would recommend them for any event, program or community!
