We heard about Rocky’s through a friend and checked them out. We LOVED how integrity, honesty and a true love and commitment to these horses and their new homes are a priority. We adopted an Arabian, Jazzy. We were loving this Rescue and wanted to help. So we took a quarter horse to help with training. With Sharons encouragement and insight, I loved this challenge & grew exponentially in my love to help this rescue & the horses ... and adopted my Lily. Then I joined the Board. We can’t say enough good things - Rocky’s ROCKS!!!

We’ve adopted 2 horses from Rocky’s. Our experience was exceptional. Not only were they committed to pairing us with the horses that were perfect for our family’s needs, but they also stay in touch with us and the horses. When our mare started showing behavior issues with my daughter, Sharon did not rest until we figured out the solution together. We couldn’t be happier with this rescue.

Rocky's Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation is top rated all the way. When they go for a rescue they usually come back with more then they went for. When a rescue arrives at the rescue they get the full treatment a vet visit, teeth done and feet done. They are watched to see if they have any medical problems and are treated for what they need. I've seen them work and work on two they brought in that had a mysterious disease that they couldn't figure out. The horses came from a large herd where other rescues also had gotten horses from. So between all the rescues it was finally figured out ( mainly from RHR&R work) and the horses were given the meds that they needed. They also have volunteers that are great with the horses and make sure they are all taken care of and keep and eye out for any problems that might come up. They also make sure that the proper feed is used and any meds that are needed are given. Each horse is treated like an individual and is made sure that all horses get individual treatment. To top if off they had a great trainer that works well with the horses and is the reason a lot of the horses have been adopted out. They take the horses out on trail rides to see what they know and what needs work. Then they focus on what other training may be needed. All and all it is a well run rescue where the horses come first.

I volunteer there and work with the nee ones that have come in. I can honestly say that frim the start they anilize what the horse needs to get back on track with its health. The horses get a vet check, teeth check and any meds that they might need. If a horse still continues to have a problem they will do all they can to find out what is going on with it until they find the answer.

I have known Sharon and Danny for several years now through the horses. What is impressive about Sharon is her continued work on knowledge. She is humble enough to not already know everything and works on getting answers for the behavior and health of her horses. Since the horses that have been there awhile are in good condition you know the money donated goes to food and supplements for their particular needs.

The horses are well capped and well fed and emotionally/physically nursed back to health. One of the best places with the best people.

This rescue goes above and beyond for the animals!! They rescued many malnourished and plain out neglected horses spending tons of $ (including their own) to save them. Unfortunately not every horse has a happy ending—but many do.

The horses are well kept, and fed well. They come in damaged and broken, and Sharon and family nurse them back to health. After their health is fixed, every horse is given the attention it needs to heal emotionally as well. These horses come in damaged and broken, and leave with a new sense of hope. Horses are very intelligent creatures, and everyone at Rocky's Horse Rescue gives them the love and affection they deserve. Definitely consider adopting or donating to this one of a kind rescue!

I wasnt looking for a charitable site but, it came up unexpectedly. My grandaughter Samii, has been seeing a wonderful young man Luke, and she told me about all the activities that his Mom is involved in. Beside running a day care for babies and pre-teens, sharon has raised 4 boys who are involved in normal activities. WHEW! If that isnt enough, she is dedicated to rescue and rehabilitation of horses. Horses of all makes (including a donkey) adult, mares and folds, stallions, racers, overworked, neglected, and rescued from kill shelters. ( Can I Say "Have Tailer, will Travel). Doing all she can, she will travel many miles with that horse trailer to collect, provide proper feed and veterinarian services for the horses. I asked all kinds of stupid questions and she indulged me with patient answers. I had asked why she does not work her large fields for feed and was told that there are many different kinds of feeds for individual cases in her stables & pastures and she couldnt possibly have the where with all to grow that much feed. "OH!" I said. Undernourished, folds, nursing mares, abused horses all have different dietary needs. So, donations of food, vets, medicine, services such as general grooming, stable maintainance, training, people, and money are all resourced to provide for them;. With specific requests upon immediate need. These things are only a portion of what happens at the Rocky Horse Rescue and I donate as much as I am able . Animals are as close to heart as my family and they need our help. Not my Family, THE HORSES!

We got a fantastic horse through this rescue! They were clear on what he would be good for and he has been fantastic! Sharon is to the point, fair and clear on the expectations. You will do yourself a favor and help a horse in need of their own person by adopting a horse through Rocky's

Rocky's Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation is an amazing place. Any time a horse in brought in, any needed vet work, dental work, farrier work, and re-feeding steps are taken to get the horse comfortable and addressed to start their healing process. They provide the up most care to severely neglected and starved horses and make sure every step is taken carefully to ensure the best for each horse. Every horse is different in every aspect and they make sure to go over everything so that each horse gets to the best of their potential. They are an all day every day rescue, always do everything they can for the better of the horse and horse world. They make sure any horse adopted out is going to a great home, always hoping a forever home, and make sure to check in on the horse and if the horse were to ever fall on a situation where they had to come back, they always have the room and time to find another home for them. They have lifers and personal horses amongst the rescues and everything is always taken care of and on top of with any situation. Each horse gets their own time with everything. Couldn't ask to be part of a better rescue.

The rescue world is a very difficult place to work on the front lines in. Sharon and the crew here are wonderful at doing everything they can to benefit horses as much as they can and provide outstanding care and rehabilitation.
They literally saved my horse when she had been starved to not enough strength to stand. They also saved her emaciated sister, also now my horse, and her beautiful niece, my surprise third horse. There was little chance the pregnancies would have survived, but because of Sharon, Danny, et. al., baby Willow was born strong and healthy, after it had been determined both foals had been lost.
I guess I would call them miracle makers, if there’s any doubt, here she is, Willow Rose ❤️

Rocky’s Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation
Mission Statement

RHRR’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome horses in need. We also will to educate the community to help prevent cruelty, neglect, and inhumane treatment of equines.

We will try to intercept horses before they can be sold into the slaughter pipeline, give them time to recuperate, and regain their health, strength and dignity. Every horse will receive medical attention, dental care and farrier work to address their immediate needs. Each horse is carefully evaluated and enters into an individually designed program of training or rehabilitation to overcome the scars of abuse, cruelty, and/or neglect that have been inflicted upon them. Our ultimate goal is to find a forever home, the perfect fit for horse and human.

We strive to prevent future inhumane treatment of horses by educating the community on responsible equine stewardship. We attend local events to show members of the community the impact our organization has on the lives of what were once deemed “throw away” horses.
