Morehead memorial hospital receives no local tax support. It is financially self-sustaining. Income from insurance programs falls short of covering the full cost of providing care. Morehead memorial annually provides a significant number of dollars in medical care to individuals who have no ability to pay. In an effort to address these increasing challenges, the morehead memorial hospital foundation was established in 1996. The foundation is a separate, not-for-profit organization created to serve the hospital. Contributions are tax deductible. Gifts of cash, stocks, bonds and land are all acceptable, as well as planned giving through estate planning. By seeking and attracting charitable contributions, the foundation is working to enhance the quality of health care in our community and assist in reducing the costs of those services.
