This is a great organization that I love being involved with. It's very rewarding to see young people grow and succeed. The student bands help teach teamwork, and students learn to write their own music and perform proudly on stage. I know that Rock to the Future means a lot to students. For many of the students, this is the first time they have been able to access music lessons. Students also have time to study and do homework every day, so they don't need to balance learning music with their other schoolwork.

Mission: Rock to the Future is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2010 that provides music education for Philadelphia’s youth from underserved neighborhoods and under-resourced schools at no cost to them or their families. Using music, our programs ignite passion and creativity, support academic achievement, and improve self-esteem. We empower individuals and strengthen communities.
Results: Since our founding in 2010, 100% of 12th grade graduates of the MusiCore After School Program have gone on to post-secondary education, like college or trade school. Providing free music education levels the playing field for youth in under resourced neighborhoods. Working together with their peers, students write their own original music, record in professional music studios, and perform at venues around Philadelphia. These exciting experiences bring students through the doors so that our staff can also provide individualized academic and social support. In our MusiCore after school program, we provide direct academic assistance through homework help, tutoring, and post-secondary education assistance; including college and trade school visitations, FASFA nights, scholarship writing clubs, and application help.
