Mission: To provide medical care to unisured low income patients.
Programs: The rock springs clinic is a free non-profit, faith-based community health clinic which provides a comprehensive range of services for individuals without insurance or the means to afford such care. Patients must meet 2 criteria: (1) have no insurance and (2) live at or below 200% of the poverty level. We offer our patients' free health services once a week and laboratory testing twice monthly, as needed. In addition, we are able to provide many of their medicines through prescription assistance programs offered through all major pharmaceutical companies. We strive to fill a gap in our health care system by providing preventative care, reducing the potential of a health crisis serving those in 34 counties and 81 cities throughout the middle georgia area, the clinic is staffed with volunteer medical and clerical professionals who have contributed over 17,000 hours of service to over 6,000 patients since the clinic was founded six years ago. The clinic is under the supervision of an experienced board of directors, who provides management and financial expertise including the allocation of funds. The clinic relies solely on private and public donations. We do not receive any federal or state funds, however we are a 501(c)3 non-profit. We are staffed with 60+ volunteers including physicians, nurses, and clerical. We are located in milner, ga, however we do not limit patient care to this county. The primary scope of treatment diagnosis is hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes. We serve patients in 31 surrounding counties with 97% of our patients from 7 surrounding counties. Butts county represents 24% of our patient base, lamar county 22%, monroe county 22%, spalding county, 12% upson county 9%, henry 6%, pike county 3% and bibb county 1%. In 2013/2014 we have provided 1592 patients. These patients have no place to receive medical treatment other than the hospital emergency rooms. Providing acute and chronic care for these patients, reduces the er visits thus saving the hospital er and treatment cost.
