I have been volunteering at Robinson Ranch for 9 months now and I love the owners, Sheila and John Robinson. They are bubbly, kind people who are doing a great job helping special needs kids and under-privileged kids in the community. Some of the horses they use in their horse therapy are also rescued horses that were saved from abuse and neglect.
They ask for personal information in order to be a volunteer (like ssn) and require you to get a fingerprint clearance card, other similar organizations don't, Special Olympics doesn't even require the fingerprint card. They have too many horses on their property (close to 20 on an acre with the horses being on 1/2 the acre which is also shared with goats, a pig and sheep) and don't properly care for them, often they have become under weight before they noticed they weren't feeding properly.
