work/employment services: a variety of work/employment services are available at 5 locations throughout the south shore to adult individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges. The primary services provided through our work/employment program are: community based day support, this service model encourages participants to explore interests meaningful to them while also teaching them the skills to help them lead lives that are independent, healthy and fulfilling as possible; center-based work, where individuals have the opportunity to do assembly, kitting, packaging and bulk mailing work and are paid by the piece; group employment, where small crews (usually 5-7 individuals) are sent to a business within the community to perform specified tasks including: janitorial, housekeeping, reception/office, warehouse and food service under the direct supervision of rtr staff; and job placement, where individuals are taken through the entire employment cycle including: identification of interests and needs, resume development, interview skills, the actual job search and subsequent on the job supports and training. Similar to the job placement services provided to individuals with disabilities, rtr provides services to non-disabled adults through two additioanl work/employment programs. These programs are our welfare to work program and our urban youth program. Currently, 555 individuals benefit from these services.
day habilitation: theraputic day services are available at 5 locations throughout the south shore to people reaching adulthood and beyond with intellectual and developmental challenges.
