Causes: Philanthropy, Private Independent Foundations
Mission: Rizing Tide is a scholarship program designed to empower a new generation of BIPOC leaders in the physical therapy profession.
Results: As of November 2022, Rizing Tide has assisted 8 scholars with their financial aid and pledged to help 15 more in 2023.
Target demographics: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students and residents who are Black, Indigenous, and/or people of color (BIPOC)
Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2023, Rizing Tide will offer financial aid and professional development to 17 DPT students and DPT residents (amounting to $172,000 in scholarships), with plans to increase the number of scholars helped year over year.
Geographic areas served: United States of America
Programs: Rizing Tide offers significant financial aid to physical therapy students and residents who are Black, Ingenous, and/or people of color (BIPOC). We further support our scholars by hosting educational professional development events, and planning mentorship and networking opportunities.
