Mission: The Mission of River City Community Development Corporation (RCCDC) is to strengthen communities and improve the quality of life for residents in Elizabeth City and Northeastern North Carolina. Founded in 1990, RCCDC is dedicated to providing strong leadership through the implementation of programs and initiatives that provide affordable housing, economic and workforce development, health and wellness, cultural awareness, and youth empowerment. Results: As of our 2010 Impact Study we have invested the following: $5.5 Million investment in housing development $648,000 investment in housing rehabilitation $1.2 Million investment in property and land acquisitions $420,000 investment in small businesses and microenterprises $243,000 in RCCDC institutional funds to local tax base $7.5 Million in grant funds invested in local community $1.75 Million in leveraged funds invested in local community 4,225 people provided with housing counseling 150 people provided with housing loan supportive services 120 first time homebuyers created 17 single family housing units 48 senior housing units 1,125 people provided with business development assistance 750 start-up businesses assisted 455 jobs created 1,200 youth served through targeted programs and services 132 people placed in jobs throughout the community 150 students provided assistance that led to GED's 88 students assisted with placement in postsecondary education $17,261,000 Invested, 7,190 People Assisted Directly, 65 Housing Units Created River City CDC, " Growing to Meet Community Needs.
