RGCDC is a great organization that really cares about putting the people of the South Valley and of New Mexico at the forefront of their own economic development. The corporation tackles challenges and helps build networks that enable businesses to succeed.

The RGCDC began over 35 years ago as a grassroots effort to improve the quality of life in a historically disadvantaged and ignored community. Today, the RGCDC is well-known as a leader in encouraging economic development opportunities for small businesses throughout the community. The RGCDC has become a model for others to follow to advise and assist entrepreneurs in fully developing their dreams of economic self-determination. Through a strong network of community relationshipships, the RGCDC has the ability to continue to provide much needed resources for a variety of initiatives and programs.

The Rio Grande Community Development Corporation is an important piece to the Albuquerque community and the South Valley. The inspiration and support they have provided to locals and business owners has made a significant impact. I would recommend this organization and staff any day for those entrepreneurs looking for support in starting their dream business.

I have served as a board member with RGCDC for four years. In that time, under the leadership of Josue Olivares, we have come to see great alignment of economic development and non-profit sides of RGCDC, all in service to making a better Albuquerque and New Mexico. I have been very impressed with how the organization survived during the pandemic, working with businesses and non-profits through initiatives like the Mixing Bowl and SINC to keep them apprised of how to navigate the pandemic and grants available to these organizations to help them through any hard times.

RGCDC has great plans for the future and I encourage entrepreneurs and those interested in starting a non-profit to check out RGCDC’s website (https://www.rgcdc.org/) to learn more about this fantastic organization.
