Mission: The Ridgewood Concert Band was founded in 1983 to provide a serious performing outlet for many fine wind and percussion players living in and around Bergen County. Included among the many music educators and talented amateur and professional musicians in this ensemble are retired members of the New York Philharmonic. The Band also strives to promote and stimulate interest in concert bands and wind music by bringing to area residents a superior level of concert band performance, virtuoso instrumental soloists, and programs designed to satisfy audiences of varied musical tastes. The Band also affords opportunities for both new and established wind composers to present new concert band/wind ensemble compositions.
