Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: It is our mission to feed the homeless and assist domestic violence survivors in finding a haven while showing everyone that we encounter the dignity they deserve. We are here to show support in anyway possible. We do this by offering food, clothing, supply bags and other items to those in need.
Results: homeless bags distributed 10/13/14- 10 bags were distributed of these eight were to men and two were to women. Homeless bags distributed on 10/19/14- 23 bags were distributed of these eighteen were men and five were women Homeless bags distributed on 10/31/14- 13 bags were distributed of these five were men and eight were women Homeless bags distributed on 12/14/14- 10 bags were distributed of these seven were men and three were women During the year of 2015 approximately 238 bags were handed out to the homeless every week ten bags were made for men and thirteen bags were made for women, there were weeks in which none were given out due to no individuals being in the normal areas. Those bags would remain in the car of the owner and would be handed out as she came across individuals that needed them. 12/6/15- Blanket for The Homeless handout. 44 supply bags, 42 snack bags and 44 blankets were handed out to the homeless in Raleigh, NC of those individuals fifteen women received items the remainder were men. During the year of 2016 approximately 382 supply bags were handed out to the homeless, weekly 28 bags were made, once again there were weeks in which no bags were given out. Lisa started going directly to the local shelters and leaving the bags there for disbursement. There was no log of how many women and men were helped. In 2016 Lisa wrote numerous food referrals to individuals for food assistance with Catholic Parrish Outreach in Raleigh NC. This facility allows referrals once every three months. 12/22/16- Dinner of Dignity for The Homeless- 70 individuals were served at the Dinner of these individuals 10 (23 individuals) families were served with children, 28 individual homeless women, 5 teenage runaways, and 14 individual homeless men were served. Each person was given supply bags, sweatshirts, knit caps and the children were given toys. Partnership with InterAct of Wake County forme Partnership with Panera Bread formed for donation program
Target demographics: The homeless, domestic violence survivors and anyone in need
Direct beneficiaries per year: approximately 500 families and homeless individuals and 100 women and individuals dealing with domestic violence.
Geographic areas served: Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas
Programs: food, clothing, supplies for survival (i.e. toiletry items, snack items and necessary items for hygiene and hunger). Referrals to shelters and domestic violence organizations. Until we can begin opening our own transitional homes.
