We are committed to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, or background, have access to the resources and care they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives. Through advocacy, education, and the delivery of culturally competent services, we strive to break down systemic barriers, eliminate disparities, and foster a healthcare environment that is welcoming, accessible, and just for all. By working in partnership with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders, we aim to create sustainable, positive change that ensures every individual has the opportunity to thrive in an equitable and inclusive society.
Results: Outreach and Education: It takes A village Program 500 community members attended our mental health awareness workshop focused on reducing stigma and increasing access to care in underserved neighborhoods. 75% of participants reported a better understanding of mental health symptoms and resources available to them after attending the session. Health Screenings and Services: 200 individuals received free health screenings, including blood pressure checks, mental health assessments, and diabetes risk screenings. 20 individuals were referred for follow-up mental health counseling services and primary care visits based on today's screenings. Diversity and Inclusion Training: 50 healthcare professionals completed a cultural competency and diversity training session, equipping them with tools to better serve diverse populations in their communities. Post-training evaluations showed that 90% of participants felt more confident in addressing cultural differences and providing inclusive care. Community Engagement: We held a community forum on improving health equity in underserved areas, attracting 150 attendees from local organizations, advocacy groups, and community leaders in Michigan.. 80% of forum participants expressed interest in joining a working group to develop strategies for improving access to health services in their neighborhoods. Volunteer and Partner Collaboration: 30 new volunteers joined our network, pledging their support for future outreach and health services events. 5 new community partnerships were formed with local organizations focused on healthcare access, food security, and social services, strengthening our collective impact. Client Services: Our helpline assisted 1000+ callers, providing information on mental health resources, healthcare services, and social support. 25 individuals enrolled in our free mental health support programs, ensuring continued access to care. Funding and Resources: We secured $383,000 in new donations from individual donors and corporate partners to support our ongoing outreach and mental health programs. 2 new grants were submitted today, seeking funding for our diversity and inclusion initiatives, which would expand our services to an additional 10,000 individuals over the next year. Impact Monitoring: We completed the collection of pre- and post-survey data from participants in our wellness programs, and 85% of respondents showed improvement in mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression.
